Arcane is a Netflix original based on the popular game League of Legends. Jinx and Vi are the two main characters of the story. We can expect the season 2 of Arcane to be released by 2024. American animated action-adventure dystopian TV series Samurai Jack was created by Genndy Tartakovsky. The titular character is an unnamed prince of Japan. Jack wields a mystic katana capable of cutting through anything, virtually. Samurai Jack sets out to protect his kingdom after an evil overpowers it. The shapeshifting evil lord Aku sends Jack into a dystopian future while they battle. The plot revolves around Jack’s quest to go back in time and his place.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
American animated fantasy action TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It is set in an Asiatic-inspired world in which some people can telekinetically manipulate water, earth, fire, or air. They do with ‘bending’, practices inspired by Chinese martial arts. Avatar is the only individual who can manipulate all four elements. He is responsible for maintaining harmony and serves as the association between the spirit and the physical world. Avatar: The Last Airbender focuses on 12-year-old Aang, the present Avatar and the last survivor of his nation.
Castlevania (2017)
The adult dark fantasy action TV series Castlevania was written and created by Warren Ellis. It is based on a Japanese video game series of a similar name by Konami. The series was originally planned as a film. The project didn’t work out well until Netflix picked it up. Vampire Vlad Dracula Tepes declares that people have to pay a price when his human wife is burned after falsely being accused of witchcraft. He summons demons who slaughter the population leaving the survivors to live in fear and distrust. The last living member, Trevor Belmont belongs to a known family of monster hunters. He decides to fight against Dracula’s forces, aided by Alucard, Dracula’s dhampir son, and magician Sypha Belnades.
Blood of Zeus (2020)
American adult animated fantasy TV series Blood of Zeus formerly known as Gods & Heroes. Produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios and created and written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides for Netflix. Set in mythical Greece, the series focuses on the demigod Heron, son of Zeus, trying to protect Earth and Olympus. The show features gods, giants, automata, titans, demons, and mythical mounts from the original Greek tales.
Invincible (2021)
Robert Kirkman created the adult animated superhero TV series Invincible for Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the Image Comics series of the same name. Invincible follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson and his transformation into a superhero. During his transformation, Grayson struggles between superhero duties and his personal life. He would have to prove that he can be a hero like his father Omni-Man. The series stars Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, and Sandra Oh. The second season of Invincible will premiere on November 3, 2023. On July 21, 2023, Amazon released an Invincible: Atom Eve prequel.
