Everyone buckle up, because House of the Dragon Season 3 is coming in June 2026 on HBO and JioHotstar for Indian viewers. The drama drops right after the explosive finale of Season 2, with the Targaryen civil war literally flaring across Westeros and stakes that make Game of Thrones look like a squabble over seating at a wedding feast. The official teaser (released February 19, 2026) is intense, shot through with smoke, steel, and dragons in full combat mode. It teases massive battles, heartbreaking decisions, bitter betrayals, and Rhaenyra’s rise toward the Iron Throne. Expect this season to roll right into open war between Team Black and Team Green, ditching the buildup of past episodes for blood, fire, and unmissable spectacle.
What the Season 3 Teaser Hints at
The teaser emphasizes ash-filled battlefields, dragon warfare, and Rhaenyra’s looming authority. Daemon’s voiceover frames her rise as a decisive turning point, suggesting her rule will define the season’s moral and political collapse. With new players like Ormund Hightower entering the war and major battles ahead, Season 3 promises the scale and brutality fans have been waiting for. If Season 2 set the board, Season 3 flips it. And sets it on fire.
At the end of Season 2, both sides were poised to clash, and Season 3 wastes no time unleashing that confrontation. The first major conflict expected is the Battle of the Gullet, a turning point in the Targaryen civil war. This battle has been hinted at in trailers and is set to kick off the season’s narrative arc. The story will track Rhaenyra Targaryen’s attempt to finally claim power and sit on the Iron Throne, with Daemon Targaryen right beside her, charging into the thick of it. Meanwhile, Aegon II and the Greens are not sitting pretty. They’re digging in deep, plotting, and ready to strike back. Dragons will scorch the sky, armies will march, and every crown, sword, and betrayal will matter.
House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode Wise Predictions

Now for those of you who haven’t read the Fire and Blood and don’t want their fun to be spoiled, please do not read ahead. As for the rest of you, here are our brief episode-wise predictions for Season 3:
Episode 1: Battle of the Gullet
An action packed opening episode to appease the audience after a season two finale. Episode begins with the capture of the Gay Abandon (Aegon & Viserys) by Triarchy, specifically Tyland Lannister and Sharako Lohar. Aegon will most likely be rescued later since his dragon is too small in the show to be ridden. Daeron Targaryen will be introduced at last and Otto Hightower will be revealed to be held captive by Beesbury/Tarly/Costayne.
Alicent will return to King’s Landing and finds out Aegon has fled the city and will be question by Aemond about her disappearance. Triarchy will hit Spicetown and Corlys and Alyn act together and respond immediately. Rhaenyra who has been preparing to take King’s Landing, hears of her children’s capture. In the battle, perhaps we see the first signs of betrayal from Ulf and his poor discipline could lead to Jace’s death. Jace could have gone down in an attempt to pick up Aegon and Viserys while Ulf recklessly rains fire upon the ship. We may see Rhaena show up for the first time with Sheepstealer and end up completing the rescue of Aegon.
Episode 2: Aftermath and the Honeywine
The aftermath of the Gullet reshapes the board. Rhaenyra begins to harden under the weight of Jace’s death, her grief turning to fury. Tyland Lannister is taken hostage, while Corlys returns to a ravaged Driftmark. Aemond declares Daemon the greatest threat and marches toward Harrenhal with Criston Cole and Gwayne Hightower. Meanwhile, Daeron makes his grand entrance as the Hightower host crushes Beesbury, Tarly, and Costayne forces at the Honeywine.
Otto is rescued and names his grandson “Daeron the Daring,” likely assuming Ormund Hightower’s command role in the show’s adaptation. Alicent secretly informs Rhaenyra that Aemond and Vhagar have abandoned King’s Landing, leaving it exposed. Daemon leaves Harrenhal to join Rhaenyra, and by episode’s end she resolves to strike — the time to seize the capital has come.
Episode 3: The Fall of King’s Landing
Corlys gathers the Velaryon fleet, deepening his bond with Alyn and signaling his intent to name him heir. Daemon reunites with Rhaenyra to plan the assault. On the road, Aegon II and Larys Strong begin their fugitive arc, with Aegon broken and Larys calculatingly keeping him focused. The Blacks descend upon King’s Landing with overwhelming force — dragons filling the sky, the Valyrian fleet blockading the harbor.
The city falls swiftly, echoing the book’s momentum. The Green council is imprisoned, including Alicent. Rhaenyra, furious that Aegon has vanished, suspects deception. The episode ends with her ascending the Iron Throne victorious, but already shadowed by loss.
Episode 4: After the Fall
At Harrenhal, Aemond and Criston mock Daemon’s absence, believing him cowardly. In King’s Landing, Rhaenyra demands fealty; Lord Ironrod refuses and is executed. She legitimizes Addam and Alyn Velaryon, naming Alyn heir, and knights Ulf and Hugh — though Ulf’s disdain and ambition foreshadow treachery. News of the capital’s fall ripples across Westeros. Daemon bonds with Rhaena, strengthening a father-daughter relationship that will matter later.
Tension simmers between Rhaenyra, Daemon, and Mysaria, as their intimacy threatens political and emotional fractures. Otto and Daeron continue their march north. At Harrenhal, Aemond murders Simon Strong in a show of rage and dominance. Aegon and Larys, hearing of Rhaenyra’s triumph in a tavern, decide to vanish further (with Dragonstone becoming their unlikely refuge but off screen to maintain suspense). Meanwhile, Northern forces led by Roddy the Ruin move toward confrontation with Jason Lannister.
Episode 5: War Expands Across the Realm
Financial crisis strikes when the treasury is found empty. Harsh taxation begins to anger the smallfolk. Battles in the Riverlands weaken Lannister strength while tensions rise between Aemond and Criston Cole.
Episode 5 – The Red Fork and the Fishfeed
Rhaenyra struggles to rule a fractured realm. The treasury is discovered empty, forcing her to appoint Lord Celtigar as Master of Coin and impose harsh taxation, while Tyland Lannister endures torture for information. She maintains tense prison dialogues with Alicent.
Aemond, increasingly unhinged, is seduced and steadied only by Alys Rivers, causing friction with Criston Cole. The Fishfeed and Red Fork battles merge into one brutal northern conflict, likely condensed onscreen but culminating in Roddy the Ruin killing Jason Lannister. Meanwhile, appeals are sent to the Greyjoys once more.
Episode 6 – Sunfyre Alive
Criston Cole abandons Aemond, marching south to join the Hightowers, while Aemond remains at Harrenhal under Alys Rivers’ influence. Aegon and Larys arrive at Dragonstone disguised as fishermen, where Baela clashes with Alfred Broome over control of the island. The Greyjoys answer Rhaenyra’s call, raiding Lannister lands. King’s Landing begins to suffer under heavy taxation, and Mysaria may quietly turn against Rhaenyra. In a shocking reveal, Sunfyre is discovered alive; men attempting to slay him are incinerated as the golden dragon takes flight, restoring hope to Aegon.
Episode 7 – Butcher’s Ball
Aemond leaves Harrenhal after impregnating Alys, burning Riverland villages from Vhagar’s back. Otto, Daeron, and the Hightower host reach Tumbleton. Criston Cole, attempting to join them, is ambushed by Roddy the Ruin and slain in a brutal, unsung death true to the book’s tone. In King’s Landing, Rhaenyra confronts growing threats: restless smallfolk, Aemond’s devastation, and the undefeated Hightower army. She sends Daemon and Rhaena north to confront Aemond, while dispatching Ulf and Hugh to Tumbleton. Ulf’s betrayal looms obviously; Hugh’s requires deeper motivation, possibly tied to his wife in Tumbleton.
Episode 8 – The First Battle of Tumbleton
Rhaenyra informs Alicent of Criston’s death and anticipates victory through Vermithor and Silverwing. Baela struggles to maintain control of Dragonstone as Larys quietly manipulates events. Aegon hears rumors of a dragon battle — the Cannibal slaying Grey Ghost — but recognizes the golden scales of Sunfyre, reigniting his will. The First Battle of Tumbleton unfolds in full spectacle.
Ulf defects quickly; Hugh’s betrayal, possibly triggered by his wife’s death at Black hands, devastates the Blacks’ forces. Roddy the Ruin dies heroically after grievous wounds. Tumbleton is sacked savagely. Meanwhile, Daemon and Rhaena finally confront Aemond — and in a tragic turn, Rhaena and Sheepstealer are slain (since the show has scrapped the Nettles arc and given Sheepstealer to Rhaena). Daemon, broken by the loss of the daughter he had only just begun to know, swears to kill Aemond the Kinslayer, setting up the inevitable clash to come.

Season 3 is shaping up to be the most brutal, emotional, and visually stunning instalment yet. If the trailer is anything to go by, expect news headlines like dragons vs dragons, crown claimed and lost, and the kind of epic war that makes Winter feel like a nice picnic.
