With over 100 cinema halls across Delhi NCR, including multiplexes, premium formats, and iconic single screens, the Capital remains the cinema hub of North India. Different theatres cater to different audiences, from luxury seekers to college crowds to neighbourhood families. Yet most people still believe Delhi NCR is just PVR and Cinepolis. But the truth is: there are multiple movie theatre chains in Delhi NCR, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, and loyal fanbase. This list ranks cinema chains, not single screens, and includes only those with 2 or more surviving multiplexes. So theatres like Liberty, G3S, Delite, Rajhans, Fun Cinemas, Batra, Skylit, MSX, E-Box Mall (old), etc., are not included as standalone entities. Click here for the Top 5 Movie Theatres in Delhi NCR.
11. Movietime Cinemas

3 Multiplexes | Delhi, Noida, Gurugram
One of the oldest chains still surviving in NCR, Movietime continues to operate out of sheer inertia. Once known for being the cheapest option, Movietime’s quality has been inconsistent for nearly 15 years. Affordable, yes — but rarely satisfying. It remains at the bottom simply because it hasn’t evolved.
10. M2K Cinemas

2 Multiplexes | Delhi
M2K Pitampura and M2K Rohini are nostalgia names for many West Delhi kids like me. Despite multiple renovations, they remain neighbourhood theatres catering to their core audience. They’re not bad, but they don’t compete with modern multiplex chains either. They serve who they serve, and that’s enough for them.
9. Wave Cinemas

5 Multiplexes | Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad
Wave was once the No. 2 or 3 chain in NCR. But those days are long past. Although still functional and decent in patches, the chain has suffered from inconsistent maintenance, outdated interiors, and lack of innovation. Not terrible, but far from great.
8. RR Cinemas

2 Multiplexes | Ghaziabad, Gurugram
This is where the list gets good. RR is a relatively new chain trying to establish itself in NCR. Its cinemas are clean, modern, and serviceable but lack the scale or premium feel of bigger chains. With more expansion planned, RR has potential but for now, it sits in the lower tier. (Most branches feature basic 2D/3D screens, mid-range pricing, and a typical family-audience focus.)
7. E-Box Cinemas

2 Multiplexes | Greater Noida, Kundli
Launched in 2025, E-Box is the newest entrant on this list. One property is the revamped theatre in Ansal Plaza, Greater Noida, and the second is in Kundli. Sleek, new, and clean — but small, with under 4 screens each. It’s promising, modern, and definitely better than many legacy chains, but still building its identity. (Known for low prices, recliners in select screens, and surprisingly good ambience.)
6. Miraj Cinemas

9 Multiplexes | Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram
Miraj has quietly become a powerhouse by acquiring all Carnival Cinemas across NCR and doubling down on middle-class audiences. The chain offers affordable ticket prices, decent screens, and some surprisingly good properties. With a brand-new 6-screen Miraj opening soon in Spectrum Metro Mall, Sector 75, Noida, Miraj is rising steadily. Expect this chain to climb higher.
5. Devgn CineX

2 Multiplexes | Gurugram, Ghaziabad
Launched by Ajay Devgn, CineX is a premium-focused chain offering gorgeous interiors, recliner-heavy screens, excellent ambience, and strong technical quality. The only reason it’s ranked lower is the limited number of theatres. If it expands rapidly — which it likely will — it could break into the Top 3 soon.
4. US Cinemas

4 Multiplexes | Greater Noida, Ghaziabad
Think of US Cinemas as Devgn CineX — but bigger, older and more established. Its theatres boast large properties, including a massive 10-screen complex in Greater Noida, 4K projection, luxury seating, and surprisingly low prices. The only drawback: it hasn’t entered Delhi, Noida, or Gurgaon yet. Once it does, it may shake up the hierarchy.
3. MovieMax

4 Multiplexes | Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad
MovieMax is the best newcomer of the decade, especially it’s Luxe multiplex. Stylish, premium, and extremely comfortable, MovieMax Luxe at RCube Monad Mall, Noida can genuinely rival PVR Gold Class, but at 30–50% lower prices. The ambience, lighting, and warmth of its auditoriums stand out immediately. Same goes for the other 3 MovieMax mulitplexes. Its only limitation? Lack of major formats as it features only normal 2D and 3D. Still, for sheer value and premium feel, MovieMax is unbeatable at its price point.
2. Cinepolis

14 Multiplexes | Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad
The Mexican giant is Delhi NCR’s favourite among the upper-middle-class crowd. The masses go here when they want to feel like classes and classes go here when they can’t find desired seats/shows in PVR. It is known for high-quality screens, clean ambience, great seating, 4DX availability, and prime locations. Cinepolis DLF Avenue remains one of NCR’s best mid-premium theatres. To challenge PVR more directly, Cinepolis needs IMAX, ScreenX, or ICE expansion — but even without that, it ranks solidly at #2.
1. PVR & INOX

36 (PVR) + 16 (INOX) Multiplexes | Across NCR
This was inevitable. PVR or Priya Village Roadshows is not just Delhi’s best chain but is India’s gold standard of theatrical experience. And after merging with its only significant competitor INOX in 2022, it became a behemoth. With over 50 theatres in NCR, quality FnB, and unmatched format variety including IMAX (check out all 8 here), 4DX (check out all 8 here), BIGPlex, ScreenX (check our review here), ICE, LUXE, PVR Gold, P[XL] and more. PVR remains far ahead of every competitor. Yes, a few older properties need maintenance, but as a chain, PVR defines and continuously reimagines movie-going experience in NCR.
Conclusion
Delhi NCR’s movie culture is rich, diverse, and constantly evolving. From luxury recliner halls to affordable neighbourhood cinemas, each chain serves a unique audience. While giants like PVR and Cinepolis dominate the landscape, rising players like MovieMax, US Cinemas, and Devgn CineX ensure that the cinematic competition stays alive — ultimately benefitting movie lovers.
No matter which chain tops your personal ranking, one thing is certain: Delhi NCR remains one of the best cities (if not best) in India to watch a film anywhere, anytime, any format you want.
