ScreenX Pacific Mall Jasola, Delhi Review – Experience, Technology, and More

ScreenX at PVR INOX Pacific Mall, Jasola, Delhi

Cinema has always held a special place in the hearts of Indian audiences. Whether it’s the glitz of Bollywood or the artistry of regional cinema, the theatre has been a place of escape, emotion, and community. In recent years, with the rise of multiplexes and evolving technologies, the cinema-going experience in India has taken a leap forward. From recliners and gourmet snacks to IMAX (all Delhi NCR IMAX theatres ranked) and 4DX, movie lovers have more ways than ever to immerse themselves in stories on the big screen.

Among the most recent and exciting additions to this landscape is the launch of North India’s first-ever ScreenX theatre at PVR INOX, Pacific Mall, Jasola, Delhi. It marks a new era in cinematic presentation — offering audiences a panoramic experience unlike anything else. Let’s take a closer look at this groundbreaking screen format and the theatre that hosts it.

What is ScreenX Technology?

ScreenX is a revolutionary cinematic format developed by CJ 4DPLEX that expands the traditional movie screen onto the side walls of the theatre. Instead of being limited to a single front-facing screen, viewers are surrounded by imagery on three walls — creating a 270-degree field of view. This panoramic setup is activated during specific sequences of a film, typically action scenes, establishing shots, or moments of grandeur.

The goal of ScreenX is to expand the immersive potential of cinema. When used effectively, the technology blurs the boundaries of the screen and pulls viewers deeper into the film world. It enhances peripheral vision and makes you feel like you’re truly inside the scene. However, not all films are fully optimized for ScreenX — studios often incorporate only 30-50 minutes of ScreenX-enhanced footage per movie, leaving the side projections inactive during other parts.

ScreenX Pacific Mall Jasola: Setup & Features

The ScreenX auditorium at Pacific Premium Outlets Mall, Jasola, Delhi is a part of a newly launched 10-screen multiplex by PVR INOX. It’s only the third ScreenX theatre in India, after Mumbai and Kolkata, and the first in North India.

Technical Details:

  1. Main Screen: Scope screen with 4K Laser projection
  2. Side Screens: Panasonic 2K DLP projectors (used selectively)
  3. Audio: Dolby Surround 7.1 with 12 strategically placed speakers
  4. Seating: Plush, very comfortable seats with steep stadium-style seating for a clear line of sight

The multiplex also includes formats like Insignia, BIGPIX, and MX4D, with a total seating capacity of 1,629. There are recliners in the last rows, advanced 3D projection systems, and Dolby Atmos in select screens.

ScreenX Pacific Mall Jasola – Review & Experience

From the moment you walk into the theatre, you’ll notice its clean, welcoming, and premium ambiance. The design is modern, and the staff maintain it well. Even the first row seating offers a decent viewing distance from the screen, which is rare in many halls. Now let’s talk about the ScreenX experience itself:

Immersion: Simply put, it’s the most immersive experience you can get — often surpassing IMAX. During ScreenX sequences, the expanded field of view engulfs you, syncing your perception with camera movements. At times, it feels like you’re floating within the film itself.

Projection Quality: The 4K Laser projection ensures sharp, vivid visuals. The side projectors are well-placed near the ceiling and don’t obstruct your view.

The Catch: The only real drawback is the intermittent use of the side screens. Since most movies have only 30–50 minutes of ScreenX-enhanced footage, the side screens turn off during the rest of the film. This on-and-off switching can sometimes break immersion and make the main screen suddenly feel smaller in contrast.

That said, the highs far outweigh the lows, and we’re hopeful that more filmmakers will shoot entire films for ScreenX in the future.

Who Shouldn’t Try ScreenX

  1. Physically Disabled (Walk Impaired): Unfortunately, the ScreenX screen at Jasola currently does not have wheelchair access.
  2. Motion Sensitive Viewers: If you are prone to motion sickness or find wide peripheral visuals distracting, the 270-degree visuals may cause dizziness, nausea, or headaches.
  3. Viewers who may consider concept of side screens distracting rather than immersive.

Conclusion

Whether you’re a hardcore cinephile or just a curious moviegoer, the ScreenX format at Pacific Mall Jasola is something you must experience at least once. It may just become your favorite way to watch movies. And even if not, the sheer uniqueness of it makes it worth trying. Here’s to more immersive and innovative cinema in India!
