Dragon Ball Super eason 2 Will Broly Return, Broly, Jiren, Grand Priest Goku

Dragon Ball Super will soon return with a new season full of new sagas and character arcs. The last we saw of the popular anime series was in 2018 in the form of Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Ever since then manga has progressed quite a lot but anime side has stayed largely silent. That was until now as DBS: Super Hero is all set to debut on 11th June, 2022 and Dragon Ball Super Season 2 might be following it soon as well. Now obviously season 2 will follow the manga that means the Galactic Patrol Arc involving Moru but we’ve seen DB taking a different route quite often. So, some fans expect the season to open a bit different than what you might think.

Broly Is DBS Canon Now

Goku Trains Broly in DBS: SH

DBS season 1 took a different route from Manga when it adapted the films DBZ: Battle of Gods, and DBZ: Resurrection F for its first 27 episodes. Only after wrapping them up did it proceed with the first DBS Manga saga called the Universe 6 Saga. So, fans expect something similar from season 2 and are speculating that it might open with the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018). So, Dragon Ball Super Season 2 can mark the return, no actually, the introduction of Broly in the anime series.

As you may be aware, we haven’t seen Broly in the canon anime series of Dragon Ball Franchise. Broly first appeared a long time back in Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan and kept coming back via Broly: Second Coming and DBZ: Bio-Broly. Although, he became a legendary character, he was never a part of the main DB universe. That was until DBS: Broly, which unlike rest of the films, is canon and moves the series forward. That aside, he is all set to return in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and face off with Beerus and Whis.

Will Broly return in Dragon Ball Super Season 2?

So, Broly is now technically a canon character and it might be true that he might be the main focus of the first few episodes of Dragon Ball Super Season 2. An interesting thing to note here is that Goku mentioned Broly and the fight he and Vegeta had with him in DBS Manga’s Galactic Prisoner Arc. So, his future seems bright in the DBS canon but will he actually return in DBS season 2 if it kicks off exactly how the manga did?

An unofficial source claimed that Dragon Ball Super Season 2 will have just 60 episodes as opposed to more than twice that of season 1. So, if this is true, then with such a short season and so many arcs to cover, will there be enough time to adapt DBS: Broly? Anyways, we are pretty sure he’ll be there in the upcoming seasons someway or the other, but what do you think? Would you like that, or is better they start off with Galactic Patrol Arc?
