In just a short span of time, Delhi Movie Club (DMC) has grown from a WhatsApp group of cinephiles into a thriving, passionate film community that curates some of the most unforgettable movie experiences in the city. Whether it’s private screenings, cosplay contests, themed double features, or deep-dive discussions, every meetup is a celebration of cinema and community. Here are the 10 biggest and most memorable DMC meetups to date in the order of when they happened.
Across the Spider-Verse – June 2023
It wassn’t the biggest nor the best, but it was the first meetup that made us feel like a club. With 20+ members, this IMAX screening at Select City Walk included a cosplay contest where attendees dressed as different versions of Spider-Man, followed by lively discussions and food. It marked a major turning point in our journey as a community.
Barbenheimer – July 2023
No one does hype like DMC. When Barbie and Oppenheimer released on the same weekend, we turned it into a cinematic festival. With over 55+ attendees, this remains our biggest meetup ever. We watched Oppenheimer at IMAX PVR Select City Walk and Barbie at Cinepolis DLF Avenue Saket. Members came dressed in either full-on pink or classic suits, embracing the duality of the event. Each attendee received a custom DMC wristband, Barbenheimer poster, and fridge magnet. It wasn’t just a movie outing—it was an event.
Potluck Picnic – January 2024
DMC isn’t just about movies—it’s about people. Our first non-movie event took place at Sunder Nursery with a cozy group of 12 members. We bonded over home-cooked meals, played film-themed dumb charades (the best you’ve ever seen), and spent the day just being fellow film lovers enjoying each other’s company.
Dune: Part Two – March 2024
Anticipation was at an all-time high. So much so that we had to split the event into two venues: IMAX PVR Select City Walk (Saket) and IMAX PVR Logix (Noida), with a combined 50 attendees. The screenings were followed by book readings, lore discussions, and even impromptu chants of Lisan-al-Gaib. Sci-fi immersion at its peak.
2001: A Space Odyssey Screening – April 2024
A spiritual experience for sci-fi lovers. Our largest screening-focused meetup with 50 attendees came together for a special 70mm screening of Kubrick’s magnum opus. The event featured an interactive quiz and each attendee received a hand-sketched memento booklet designed by our own Vaibhav Mishra. The emotional energy and passion for classic cinema made this one of our most beloved evenings.
Godzilla Minus One + Monkey Man Screening – May 2024

With over 35 attendees, we organized a private double screening complete with ticket-style mementos, snacks, and breaks between movies. The energy in the room was electric—with hooting, clapping, and shared joy—it felt like a personal mini film festival.
Tumbbad Re-Release – Sept 2024
Bollywood may be struggling lately, but Tumbbad brought everyone back to the table. With 20+ members at PVR Priya, Vasant Vihar (IMAX), we revisited this modern Indian classic on the big screen. The cherry on top? A surprise Tumbbad Chapter 2 announcement post-credits that blew everyone’s minds.
Fight Club + Memento Double Feature – Sept 2024
The Fight Club Curse was real—our screenings kept getting canceled for mysterious reasons. But in September, we finally broke the curse by pairing it with Memento in a mind-bending, psychologically intense double feature. With 30+ attendees, this event was pure cinematic chaos in the best way possible.
Halloween Party – October 2024
A full-blown house party near Saket turned into the most elaborately planned DMC event yet. The venue was decorated from scratch by members who pulled all-nighters. A costume contest, film-themed decor, and a buffet of snacks and drinks made this a non-cinematic but incredibly cinematic experience in spirit.
Interstellar Re-Release – February 2025
Marking 10 years of Nolan’s sci-fi epic, this IMAX re-release brought together nearly 50 attendees in what was our biggest meetup of 2025 so far. We didn’t just watch a film—we dove into it. There were discussions post-screening, theory breakdowns, and emotional moments shared between fans of Nolan’s vision.
