Valhalla follows Kratos on a deeply personal and reflective journey. Brought to the mysterious shores of Valhalla accompanied only by Mimir, Kratos enters its unknown depths to overcome trials within himself and face echoes of his past. There must be many moments in the game where you might find yourself stuck and this article will help you through the biggest query fans have right now.
God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla – How To Visit All Nine Realms
During the second main quest, Valkyries and Freya inform Kratos that Valhalla will show him visions of his past and display the realms as Kratos interprets them. Kratos soon finds out that it was Tyr who invited him to Valhalla and train him to be the next God of War of the Nine Realms. During every new attempt, Kratos has to begin at lower realms, ascend to the higher realms which lead him to timed trials in Greece, and finally face Tyr at the end of it all. This is what the game refers to as “The Cycle”.
During this each cycle you pass through various doors which lead you to different realms. Although, you do not require Kratos to visit every realm to complete the story, completionists need to visit all the Nine realms to unlock the Wayfarer Trophy. Many gamers have been stuck at this trophy and repeatedly fail to find all the realms. Usually the realms they cannot find are Musphelheim, Helheim, or Niflheim. So, here’s how to visit all realms and get that trophy you’ve been grinding the DLC for.
The realms you encounter depend on the weapon path you choose during the very first room in “Valgrind”. After defeating the enemies, the chest you open will grant you three different Weapon Path choices. These will be Path of the Axe, Path of the Blades, and Path of the Spear. The path you choose will determine the realms you encounter, so make sure you choose all these paths at least twice and make it past the first boss of the upper realms. Once you defeat this boss, the door will take Kratos through Helheim, Musphelheim, or Niflheim depending on what weapon path you selected right before entering Greece. This path is reportedly different for each player as well. In our case:
- Path of the Blade took us through Musphelheim
- Path of the Spear took us through Helheim
- Path of the Axe took us through Niflheim
So, shake things up and choose a different weapon in each attempt. This will easily take Kratos through all nine realms and you won’t miss any. Of course, it also means that you need to be proficient with all the 3 weapons to make it through to Greece.
