Now, if you just bumped into this article, or want to watch everything from the Alien and Predator (Yeah, there are three franchises dedicated to Aliens & Predators), here is a chronological list of each franchise (Alien, Predator & Aliens vs Predators). Get ready to finish a slow-burning terror of Xenomorphs and the survival of the galaxy’s strongest hunters in a whole marathon.

Alien Franchise

The Alien franchise chronicles humanity’s experiences with the Xenomorphs — a deadly race created by the Engineers. It starts as an expedition mission. Then FLASH! You encounter terrors that reveal more about the aliens’ physiology, their relationship to human history, and the corporations that want to command them. From space stations to colonies and now the planet Earth itself, survival is about fighting a predator designed to be flawless. Here is the perfect order of the series:

  1. Prometheus (2012): A group of scientists land on a distant moon and encounter the Engineers- creators of humanity, but also the start of an alien infection.
  2. Alien: Covenant (2017): A crew in a spaceship lands on a new world, only to find themselves trapped by David, an android who has been making Xenomorphs.
  3. Alien: Earth (2025): The Xenomorphs arrive on Earth for the very first time, and humanity must struggle for survival on its own world.
  4. Alien (1979): The crew of Nostromo discovers an alien on a derelict spaceship, and it starts to hunt them individually.
  5. Aliens (1986): Ripley returns to a planet infested with Xenomorphs, leading a group of marines to rescue colonists.
  6. Alien 3 (1992): Ripley crash-lands on a prison planet and encounters a new, quicker breed of Xenomorph.
  7. Alien: Resurrection (1997): Two centuries on, a cloned Ripley finds a lethal human-Xenomorph hybrid.

Predator Franchise

The Predator movies take the Yautja — violent hunters who exist to thrill in the conquest of great prey. They come to various planets, employing strong devices, sophisticated firearms, and violent methods to gauge their fight. Humans are forced to use brains and guile instead of brawn. All of the stories do change the location — from jungles to cities to other planets — but the survival game of death is always the same. Here is the perfect order of the series:

  1. Prey (2022): In 1719, a teenager named Naru has to beat a Predator using only her abilities and traps.
  2. Predator: Killer of Killers (2024): Predators stalk the world’s most dangerous human warriors throughout history.
  3. Predator (1987): A jungle military unit is stalked by an invisible alien with very sophisticated weapons.
  4. Predator 2 (1990): In a dystopian Los Angeles, a Predator stalks during the middle of a brutal gang war.
  5. Predators (2010): Soldiers and assassins from Earth are brought to an alien world to be hunted for sport.
  6. The Predator (2018): Two species of Predators fight on Earth, with humanity trapped in the middle.
  7. Predator: Badlands (2025): In a devastated future, a sole survivor has to confront a Predator in a wasteland.

Aliens vs Predators Franchise

This crossover series places the two alien races in direct conflict with one another, showing that they have been warring for centuries. The Predators view Xenomorphs as the perfect prey and hunt them as part of ritual hunts. These movies combine horror, action, and moments of fan favorites. Here is the perfect order of the series:

  • Alien vs Predator (2004): An Antarctic pyramid is the arena for a fight between Xenomorphs and Predators.
  • Alien vs Predator: Requiem (2007): A Predator is on the hunt for both Xenomorphs and an Alien-Predator hybrid in a town.

So that’s it then, there is your chronological order of all the Aliens & Predators franchise compiled in one place. So, whether you want to rewatch the whole cinematic universe before the release of Alien: Earth and Predator: Badlands or just want to get into it, refer to this list.
