Activision Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal free-to-play video game which is scheduled to release on June 2, 2022, will not be available for fans in Belgium and Netherlands. Activision confirmed to an outlet citing gambling restrictions as one of the primary reasons. Diablo Immortal like the previous games in the series is primarily designed for mobile devices with Android and IOS Operating system. But a beta version for Windows is scheduled to release on the same date next month, i.e., June 2. This is first time in the history of Diablo series to make its debut on PC.
Diablo Sequel Unavailable in Belgium and Netherlands
Regarding the unavailability of the game, a employee of Blizzard explained on the subreddit r/DiabloImmortal the reasons for Blizzard’s decision to hold the game in certain territories. He said, “The lootboxes in the game are against the law in your country, so unless the gambling restrictions change the game will not be released in the Netherlands and Belgium.”
The employee also warned about downloading the game from another country’s app store and warned against getting banned for trying to run the game. “It would be illegal for you to download the game in another country like France. If you manage to run the game I cannot guarantee that you will not be banned for it.”
The communication manager for Activision Blizzard in Benelux, expressed similar statement in a reply to a Dutch website, citing the current operating conditions of the games in Netherlands and Belgium as the main reason for evading release in the two countries. The game was briefly available to pre-register in both areas for players through Apple and Google Play App stores, but was removed few days later after the announcement of Diablo Immortal launch date announcement back in April.

The online multi-player action role-playing game garnered great acclaim from fans of mobile video games and became popular across world wide.
