Dragon Ball isn’t just the most popular anime out there, but it is also one of the most vast media franchises. From manga and anime, to movies and games, there is hardly any segment of entertainment media that DB hasn’t touched. Even within its gaming franchise, it has RPG titles, combat titles, VR titles, mobile titles, and what not. Among these is Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series which has 3 main fighter games with the last one called Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Meteor which come over 16 years ago. The awesome news is that a 4th game in the series aka Dragon Ball: Sparkling Zero is officially under development and we this is a compilation of all the information and leaks we have so far!
Dragon Ball: Sparkling Zero All Leaks So Far
As described by Bandai Namco, DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO takes the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series and raises it to whole new levels. “Learn and master an incredible roster of playable characters, each with signature abilities, transformations, and techniques. Take the fight to arenas that crumble and react to your power as the battle rages on. Shake the earth. Break the heavens. Make yours the destructive power of the strongest fighters ever to appear in DRAGON BALL!”
The announcement trailer for the game was revealed during NYCC 2023 and can be seen above. That is all we know when it comes to the official information about the game. Moving on to leaks, let us first enlist the confirmed and verified leaks. To start off, DBSHype on Twitter made the following statement, “From the trailer itself you can guess but I’ll confirm: Sparking! ZERO will have a huge roster we’ve ever seen, all the way from OG to Daima, including GT as well!” This makes it pretty clear that the game will feature the biggest roster of characters in DBZ gaming history. We can already confirm the following roster:
- Goku (with SSB form, and possibly UI)
- Vegeta (with SSB form)
- Frieza (with Golden form)
- Jiren
- Broly (with LSSJ form)
- Vegitto (with SSB form)
- Piccolo
- Krillian
- Tien
- Android 17 and Android 18
- Perfect Cell
- Mr Satan
- Majin Buu
- Yamcha
- Future Trunks (SSJ)
- Bergamo
Next is a leak which apparently came from XBox itself. Last month, Xbox Store accidently revealed the size of Sparking Zero and some fans were quick enough to get a couple of screenshots of the same before the correction was made. The game’s XBox size was revealed to be 77.88 GB which makes it the heaviest DB game yet. For comparison, the previous heaviest games were Xenoverse which was around 30-40 GB, and DBZ: Kakarot which was between 50-60 GB.
Now is a leak by someone who claimed to be an employee (manager) at Bandai Namco. Earlier this month, the leaker suggested that the game will be completed in a few days and that it will have an intro with a particular song, namely GATEBREAKER which is the same one that was present in the old Budokai Tenkaichi 2. Furthermore it seems that the game will be released towards the end of the spring period / beginning of the summer period, although the leaker said he is not 100% sure about this.
Finally, comes a leak which has now been debunked by DBSHype:
