Developer FromSoftware, who created the wildly successful action-adventure game Elden Ring, has indicated that it is still upgrading the title. The action RPG was launched on February 22, 2022, and released for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Windows. Elden Ring hasn’t seen a new patch ever since version 1.05 was released for all platforms in early June. Since the game’s release in February, FromSoftware has done a great job by releasing routine patches, but some players have wondered how long Elden Ring will receive support. Fortunately, a recent statement from studio head Hidetaka Miyazaki suggests that FromSoftware still has a lot planned for the game.
Elden Ring Update Is Near
4Gamer.net recently questioned Miyazaki about what FromSoftware plans to accomplish after Elden Ring, which has currently taken a backseat. And although the long-time director only hinted at the undisclosed projects the studio is working on, he made it obvious that the game will also be getting more game updates.
“First of all, we will continue to update Elden Ring in the future,” Miyazaki remarked simply. “Also, as I have mentioned, in addition to the titles that I myself am directing, we are also developing several titles by directors other than myself, but I am not at a stage where I can talk about them in detail yet.”
FromSoftware: What More Is In Store For Fans
Besides getting new updates for Elden Ring, fans have been particularly interested in the project involving DLC. Although FromSoftware hasn’t yet stated that it would release any DLC in the future, this doesn’t indicate that it isn’t developing fresh material.
There is scope for the developer to create DLC because the company has previously provided add-on content for games like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and others. In addition to this, it would seem logical for Bandai Namco and FromSoftware to wish to capitalise on those purchases with fresh content, given how well Elden Ring has sold. Since May 11, the game has sold 13.4 million units worldwide and topped The NPD Group’s US sales chart for the same month. It’s unclear whether DLC will be revealed in the near future, so fans will have to wait for the announcement.
