Ghost of Yōtei DLC Updates: Will It Come Out and When?

It’s been a month since Ghost of Yotei released and you’ve finished carving through enemies on Ezo, mastered every skill, unclouded every corner of the map, nabbed that platinum trophy, and even posed for way too many photo-mode shots in the snow. Now you’re wondering: where’s the DLC? Well, let’s slice through the fog.

Legends Mode Is Coming — And It’s Free

Good news, to y’all. Sucker Punch Productions has officially confirmed Ghost of Yōtei: Legends, a free co-op multiplayer mode launching in 2026. Yes, free. No microtransactions, no collector’s-edition catch — just pure, supernatural samurai chaos.

Legends brings back the spirit of Ghost of Tsushima’s multiplayer mode, but this time, the stakes are higher and the ghosts are louder. You’ll team up for two-player story missions or dive into four-player survival arenas, facing off against demonic, oversized versions of the Yōtei Six.

Each player gets to pick one of four classes, all with their own flashy moves and mystical powers. It’s stylish, weird, and ridiculously fun — basically, everything fans loved about Tsushima Legends, just with more frost and fangs.

The only downside? It’s not coming with the main game. You’ll have to wait until 2026. So yeah, plenty of time to polish your parry skills and take a few more “accidentally cinematic” screenshots.

The Foggy Part: Story DLC Still Up in the Air

Now, let’s talk about what isn’t confirmed — the single-player expansion. In a recent chat with ComicBook.com, co-director Jason Connell said that Sucker Punch hasn’t ruled out a story DLC for Ghost of Yōtei. But they’re not promising anything yet.

Right now, the team’s in what Connell calls a “listening phase.” Translation: they’re seeing what fans love, what they’re confused about, and what they desperately want more of. If players can’t stop talking about Atsu’s mysterious past, there’s a chance we’ll see it expanded later.

Still, the studio’s being cautious. When asked if Yōtei would get something like Ghost of Tsushima’s Iki Island DLC, Connell admitted it’s “too soon” to say. In short: no official story expansion yet — but the door’s definitely open.

When Could A Ghost of Yotei DLC Expasion Happen?

Let’s connect the dots here.

Since Legends mode is coming in 2026, it’s clear Sucker Punch plans to support the game post-launch. And if history repeats itself, a story DLC could follow a similar path to Tsushima, which got its expansion about a year after release.

That means if a single-player DLC does happen, we might hear whispers in late 2025 and see it drop sometime in 2026. But for now, that’s pure speculation — so maybe don’t hold your breath while meditating under a waterfall.

Here’s the truth: Ghost of Yōtei’s world isn’t done haunting us. The free Legends co-op mode is officially on the way, and while there’s no confirmed story DLC yet, Sucker Punch is clearly listening. Whether that means another Atsu adventure or a brand-new side tale, the studio’s not finished with this icy frontier. So keep your sword sharp, your armor polished, and your expectations balanced. The ghosts are coming back — just not yet.
