God of War Ragnarok - Thor vs Kratos Full 10 Minute Fight Leaked, Watch Here!

God of War: Ragnarok is the newest and the final game in the Norse mythology saga. The game is a sequel to the hit God of War reboot that came out in 2018. Since, the sequel was announced the hype around it has been enormous. Despite the hype around the game that was so massive the game has managed to surpass the ridiculous expectations from fans. The story of the game is so rich and fulfilling that no one expected that the sequel would be better than the original game which was at its time considered to be perfect. The sequel picks up directly where the last game left us where our protagonist has to deal with the consequences of the past. The visuals and gameplay of the sequel is awestriking to the point where it almost feels like seamless.

The game offered us many things we wanted to see, the game gave us many things we didn’t want to see, The game even gave us the things that we didn’t expect to see but there is one thing that the fans hoped to see but the game forbid us from seeing. That is our beloved God of War- Kratos wielding the infamous Mjolnir. Why? Let’s find out.

Why Didn’t Kratos Wield Thor’s Hammer Mjølnir in God of War: Ragnarok?

God of War Ragnarok - Kratos vs Thor Full Fight Leaked, Watch Here!

Those who have completed God of War: Ragnarok are aware that in the entire long runtime of the game, Kratos doesn’t wield the Mjolnir even once. Unlike the popular belief that Kratos would finally wield the infamous Norse weapon. Now this has pissed off and upset fans all around but there is a reason that Kratos didn’t pick up Mjolnir, actually quite a few of them. One, Kratos already has too many weapons with him like the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, Guardian Shield and of course two massive blades linked to the chains.

Kratos has an ample selection of powerful melee, ranged, and magical attacks. Along with this, Kratos also receives Draupnir Spear as a gift, which he can summon at any time with his magic ring. The spear gels right in with Kratos’ history as a Spartan. This might’ve led to  his inability to use Thor’s mighty hammer. When Kratos already has so many weapons adding another to the arsenal would seem like an overkill and mess around the controls quite a bit. There is another reason why Kratos doesn’t wield Mjolnir.

Thor is a looming threat towards Kratos and Atreus throughout the run of God of War: Ragnarok. If Kratos was hypothetically wield the Mjolnir then it would’ve only been at the end of the game where Thor is defeated and vanquished. That is an excruciatingly long wait for filling a weapon’s slot. There is another very important reason why Kratos doesn’t wield Mjolnir in Ragnarok. The lore doesn’t allow him to. When Thor is vanquished then the famous Norse weapon is passed onto Thrud- Thor’s daughter who has the purest heart for the weapon.

The end of Ragnarok suggests that there is more lore and content for the fans coming out very soon. So from continuing the story it does make sense for Kratos to not get the weapon now but later in the upcoming adventures. Thrud provides another hole in the massive plot that has to be filled, this ties in with Atreus’ new mission to search for the giants. Both characters are likely candidates for allowing Kratos and Mjölnir to cross paths again, in one way or another. I know now it makes sense why Kratos never wields Mjolnir, but, I would’ve loved  to see Kratos being powered by one of the most famous weapons in all mythology.
