God of War Ragnarok Gameplay Image 1

God of War: Ragnarok is now just 1 month away folks and the anticipation surrounding the game is at its peak. The second trailer for the game reassured fans that they are in for an adventure of a lifetime and that PS4 will go out with a bang! Last time we brought to you some new leaks and spoilers about the game including Odin, new enemies, main plot, Thor, The Norns, Svartalfheim, and more. Today we have for you some technical information about the game as per the latest leaks and reports. So, be sure to read the article till the very end.

God of War: Ragnarok Playtime

When you spend 60-70 Dollars on a game, you expect it to be worth your while. Well, you have no need to worry about anything regarding God of War: Ragnarok as aside from an epic story, mind-numbing graphics, and intense combat experience, Ragnarok is not at all a short game. As per reports that came around 2 months ago, the game was set to be 55-60 hours in length, however, the latest reports suggest it would have around 40 hours of total playtime.

The report comes from Insider Gaming, and according to them this includes the side quests and other aspects of the game. The playtime for the main story of God of War: Raganarok is said to be around 20 hours in length which is exactly as much as God of War (2018). Of course, this 20 hours of playtime is if you play it in the story mode without wasting any time. Honestly, it is a little disappointing as fans expected it to be longer especially after the initial playtime leak. But considering that we’ll get around 20 hours plus of side quests and all, it is not at all bad.

These days most AAA games barely last 10-15 hours. Take Miles Morales as an example as it barely took me 12 hours to achieve 100% completion in the game. On the other hand God of War (2018) lasts 50 hours plus if you are a completionist and try to get that platinum trophy. Considering that GOW (2018) takes about 33 hours with story + side quests, Ragnarok is already offering 7-8 hours more than its predecessor. If our estimate is right the completionist playtime for the game maybe able to hit 55-60 hours just like the early report. So, here’s the final estimated playtime for GOW: Ragnarok:

  • God of War Ragnarok Main Story – 20 Hours
  • Main + Side Quests – 40 Hours
  • Completionist – 55 to 60 hours
  • All Styles – 38 Hours

GOW: Ragnarok File Size

Another information we have about Ragnarok is that is going to have a tremendous file size at least for PS4. According to Joe Miller, Good of War: Ragnarok PS4 file size is well over 90.6 GB, which is absolutely bonkers. You’ll have to start clearing out space for this multi-game epic and it is a pity that owners of 500 GB models of PS4 are basically screwed. I myself will have to delete a bunch of games to create space for Ragnarok.

Of course the size would be a bot smaller for PS5 but even so it wouldn’t be much lesser. God of War (2018) was exactly half of this size, aka 45 GB, so we expect some really good graphics and an even more humungous world that GOW. Obviously, realms Asgard, Vanaheim, and Svartalfheim, which were locked in GOW 2018 will surely be made available to play in God of War: Ragnarok. So, we hope that double the size equals to double the fun. Also, double the disc? Fans are a bit confused about that. Anyways, stay tuned for more information regarding this epic conclusion to the Norse saga.
