Gran Turismo 7 Update New Cars Revealed

The month is almost over, which means a new Gran Turismo 7 content update is coming soon. A new automobile drop is now occurring around the end of every month, and so far, each one has come with either new Missions or new Café Menu Books.

Gran Turismo 7 New Cars Teased

This week, Gran Turismo 7 players will get its upcoming free update, which will bring three new vehicles to the game. As has now become tradition, Kazunori Yamauchi, the game’s producer, tweeted over the weekend: “Update is coming next week.” Much like the updates from May and April, the tweet was accompanied by a teaser image showcasing the three new cars in silhouette.

The news site for Gran Turismo, known as GTPlanet, claims to have recognized two of the three vehicles but hasn’t identified the third one yet. The top vehicle in the picture, according to GTPlanet, is the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, a popular choice among Gran Turismo fans due to its extremely high speed. According to the website, the second vehicle seems to be a revised Gr.3 version of the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo, which got included in the game in May.

Regarding the third vehicle, the site speculates that it might be a 1932 Ford convertible or the Deuce Roadster, but it is unable to reach a conclusion.

Controversies Regarding Updates

In late May, the version 1.15 update for Gran Turismo 7 was launched, introducing three new cars. However, the change made to the game’s Legend car prices sparked the most significant debates. According to Sony, the updated rates will be implemented starting with the upcoming line-up update “according to real-world valuations under guidance from [classic car insurance company] Hagerty.”

Data mining revealed that following the update, the prices of 27 cars got hiked, 21 remained unchanged, and two dropped in price. The Ferrari F40’s cost had increased significantly, from 1.35 million to 2.6 million credits, nearly doubling. Gran Turismo 7 had a very bumpy launch and received Sony’s lowest ever user score on Metacritic, despite the game having a great commercial start in the US.

Most user reviews for Gran Turismo 7 were published on or after March 17, when the game’s developer Polyphony Digital unveiled a controversial patch that decreased payouts from the game’s races and made it more difficult to unlock new vehicles without using microtransactions. Polyphony launched a substantial Gran Turismo 7 update in April that rebalanced the in-game economy after being severely criticized by users.
