There mustn’t be a single soul who hasn’t played any iteration of GTA in their life. It is such an integral part of a gamer’s life that many people begin their gaming journey with GTA. Despite its simple premise the love people have for the game series is insane and that is exactly why GTA 6, the latest and upcoming iteration of the franchise is generating immense hype. The highly anticipated sequel is a long way down the road and even though we still haven’t seen a single trailer, the announcement for trailer alone is spreading like wildfire. there have been a ton of leaks and the internet blew back in September 2022 as there were some massive leaks, which you can check out here. Today, however, we bring to you a leaks roundup regarding every important aspect of the game.
GTA 6 Plot Details and Prologue
According to xfire and ton of other other sources, GTA 6 will have two protagonists in the form of twin brother and sister. Apparently, like an old Bollywood film plot, they get separated following the murder of their parents by the cartel in 2003. The prologue of the GTA 6 game will showcase this tragic past incident which will take place in Brazil, and will kick off the rest of the events in the game.
As further reported, the male sibling becomes an agent for the DOA, which is basically the in game version of the American law enforcement organization, DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency). At the same time, his sister will seek revenge against the cartel for the murder of her parents in her own shady way. She will end up working for the same Cartel and become their hitwomen of sorts. Then she’ll aim to slowly rise higher in the authoritative chain of the Cartel and take it on once all for all while punishing those responsible for her parent’s death.
The brother will surely go up against the sister’s cartel after the siblings will find out about each other the “hard way,” however the details for their meet aren’t clear as of now. This aside, the leaker described GTA 6 as the “first game in the industry to really dive deep into the cartel/military way of life.” It seems like a classic frenemy cop gangster story with a pinch of Narcos added to it.
GTA VI Maps and Locations
As per the concept map shown above, which is based on the leaks, you can make out that the game’s playable area is humungous compared to its predecessors. The GTA 6’s Vice City map is almost 1.75x the map of Los Santos from GTA 5. Previous leaks also suggested that there are countless Cities/Towns such as York Town, Red Hill, etc found in the files. Most of these locations point towards north of Port Gelhorn, making the map expand even further north. This also fits perfectly with Tom Henderson said, which was that the map was Vice City and surrounding areas, so you can expect that the Everglades and Keys will be part of the map too. Now how much of this is true is yet to be seen but as many sources and the huge data-mine suggest, this is what the map of GTA 6 will look like.
If anything, it will possibly be even bigger making GTA 6 such a grand scale game that it would even put its own predecessors to shame. The main campaign itself will be set some time in the 2020s as the two siblings eventually meet up as adults but on opposite sides. The main campaign will take place in the present day and primarily be set in the states, possibly also including Vice City map. Whereas the prologue, as mentioned above, is described as being set in Brazil, South America and in the past.
The main game has been leaked to be take place in a variety of locations in an expansive map including, Cuba, Columbia, Vice City (Miami), and Carcer City. If you are unaware, Carcer City, is basically GTA’s fictional version based on an extreme caricature of a Rust Belt city and is pretty close to the Liberty City (New York City). Some other leaked details point towards destructible buildings, and ambitious technology. Also, whether or not both these two protagonist would be equally playable, still remains to be seen.
GTA VI Mechanics
There is a new mechanic for detecting threats and valuable items around you, this is not a special ability like Franklin’s ability to drive cars with a special handing, this is a new mechanic that seems to be somewhat inspired by the dead eye targeting from RDR2, this mechanic is revealed in the Hanks’ Waffles dining robbery, present in the leaked videos. Rockstar has also been focusing on very detailed mechanics of searching places, this one seems to be also inspired by a mechanic from RDR2.
GTA 6 Budget and Price
According to various sources throughout internet GTA 6 is all set to be the most expensive game ever made so far with a budget which is being estimated to be between USD$1 Billion and USD$2 Billion. Some of the highly reliable sources who have reported this information are Times Now, Dexerto Gaming, Sportskeeda, and The Hollywood Handle. So far the most expensive game that has ever been produced is Rockstar’s very own Red Dead Redemption 2 which costed about $540 Million, followed by CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 with a budget of $316 Million. So, even if GTA 6 doesn’t cost more than $1B, it’s still gonna be the most expensive game ever produced.
The rumors for GTA 6 price started a few months ago when it was reported that the game would cost gamers around $150 which is an insane price for any game. So far, we haven’t seen a game whose official standard edition costs that much. Only auction copies of the games or the collectors edition go on sale for that kind of price. Anyways, this is quite hard to believe as most gamers will not be able to afford the game at this price. Even if GTA 6 offers you lifetime of playing hours, it is still pretty expensive deal for most. However, considering Rockstar’s alleged $1-2 billion budget, a $150 price isn’t too far fetched. These days new gen AAA titles have usually start costing $70 anyways, so when one of the biggest games ever made hits the shelves, nothing is impossible.
As for the release date, a 2024 release for GTA 6 has been leaked to be planned. Honestly, it does look like it may be able to make it by the end of 2024.
