Sony is to the gaming industry what Disney is to the Cinema industry. Not only is Sony’s PlayStation series the biggest in console market, Sony’s original games are some of the best games ever made with loads of Game Awards titles to their names. One such game is Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) which was highly praised for its incredible VFX, open world, and insane swing mechanics which made users feel like Spidey themselves. Then, in 2020 we got its spin-off called Spider-Man: Miles Morales which was equally praised however was criticized a bit for its short length. Since then fans have been eagerly waiting Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which is all set to release this year. Well, today we have an awesome update for you guys!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gameplay, Release Date and More To Be Revealed at PlayStation Showcase 2023
We all knew that Sony is building up to a huge PlayStation Showcase and now it has been officially confirmed to happen at 1pm PT on May 24th next week. There was no Showcase held in 2022 and we received reports that it has been delayed to Q2 2023. Just a week ago, we confirmed that a PS Showcase was going to happen on May 25 and it has indeed turned out to be true! First of all, for those who do not know, PlayStation Showcase is different from PlayStation State of Play which is held every other month or so. Showcase is a much bigger event which features some of the biggest announcements of the year and upcoming years. In fact, Spider-Man 2 itself was announced at the PlayStation Showcase 2021.

Fans were really disappointed as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was also absent from The Game Awards 2022 and the last Sony State of Play of March 2023 also didn’t provide any updates about the same either. An year ago, we got a trailer for the same in the PlayStation Showcase 2021, but since then, we have barely received any updates. But that is about to change next week as not only will we get more updates about the game but we will also be greeted with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay trailer! Here’s all the updates we hope to receive from the showcase about SM2:
- Initial release date reveal for the game
- Spider-Man 2 Story trailer with 3 minutes of Gameplay
- A look at few new suits
- A brief look at villains/antagonist lineup
- Symbiote and Venom sneak peak
- Pre-orders for the game to go live
Aside, from Marvel’s Spider-Man, a story trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine will also most likely be featured at PlayStation Showcase.
