7 years ago came a video game which shook the world of gaming to its core. Yes, we’re talking about The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt by CD Projekt Red which was the third game in the epic Witcher trilogy. Even as of 2022, we can say that Witcher 3 is one of the best RPG games of all time as well as one of the best games overall. Now the winner of over 1000 awards is back to rock the world of gaming once again as The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Next Gen Update for your PS5 and XBox Series X/S is now barely 20 days away! CDPR shared the Next-Gen update trailer yesterday and today we have some more awesome news for you guys!
The Witcher 3 Next Gen Update New Netflix Inspired DLC
Witcher 3 Next Gen update is all set to hit your gaming platforms on 14th December 2022 and it comes loaded with amazing features. These include improved visuals (Ray Tracing, improved Screen Space Reflections, improved foliage and better textures), Camera, Controls and UI Changes, Photo Mode, Integrated Mods, Quest Fixes, and Cross-Progression between PC, PS, XBox or Switch! Apart from all these massive upgrades, we will be getting some Netflix inspired DLC which we earlier believed to be minor additions. But as it happens, they are “much more than that, Cirilla!”
The new Netflix inspired DLC will be available for free (all platforms) and includes the following items which will surely get you hyped:
- Some new side quests with new rewards
- Geralt’s Season 1 and 2 Armor from Netflix Show attached to a a whole new side quest!
- Geralt’s Season 1 and 2 Swords from Netflix Show attached to a a whole new side quest!
- Alternative look for Dandelion aka Jaskier from Netflix Show
- Nilfgaardian armour based on the show’s outfits which was probably the only thing show did better than the games (Read On)
The biggest update is that there will be new side quests which will tie as a part of the game and will grant the new armor and swords. It could be a new treasure hunt or may involve a story of some kind. “We have a very special treat for all of the fans of the Netflix show! Enjoy alternative looks for Dandelion and Nilfgaardian soldiers, as well as a new quest, inspired by the show, where you’ll be able to get diagrams for new equipment for Geralt. What’s the quest? Shhh! No spoilers!”, said team CDPR in the live stream which you can confirm here.
Moreover, the voice actors of Geralt including Doug Cockle are also back to voice whatever story/ hunt this new DLC update brings with it. “We just thought if we’re offering all those new armors, swords, items that we just want to make it feel a bit more part of the game, and of course if it’s a cool armor, as with other armors in the game there should be some quest or content connected to it. So we tried to make a quest that makes it part of the game.” said CDPR.
So, it seems like the numerous delays for this update and the long wait fans endured were totally worth it! The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Free Next Gen update is all set to hit PlayStation, PC, and XBox Series X/S on 14th December 2022.
