Adipurush An Improved Trailer Surfaces On The Internet!

Adipurush was a highly anticipated Indian Epic film which was mounted on a budget of 550 crores, making it the costliest Indian film ever to be made. For a Ramayana adaptation, the scale, scope and investment made sense. Since, it was in the making for a long time and big names attached to the project like Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan the audiences were expecting something which was something not seen before. Well, they kind of got that as in October we got one of the most horrible trailers ever as Adipurush dropped its first trailer. The visuals for a film made in 500 crores were simply unacceptable. The backlash for the trailer was immense. So much so that the makers of the film delayed the film’s release date to improve the effects. The film was originally supposed to come out in January 2023 while now it is delayed by 6 months. It looks like the delay was in good cause as an improved trailer of the film has surfaced on the internet.

Is Adipurush’s New Trailer Really Better?

When the news surfaced that the makers are taking a 6 month window to improve the effects of the film I was iffy because from the trailer it was evident that the entire film was shot in a studio and no real locations were used. Because of this overdependence on VFX, the film’s look can only be improved if a lot more money is put into it. With the budget already nearing 550 crores, I don’t know how much more money will the makers will be able to raise. The film’s safest bet was to simply release as an animated venture and hope to earn its money back.

Apparently the budget is now 600 crores and a new trailer for the film has been released which shows minor improvements in the visual department. However, if I’m being honest I see no significant change. According to me, the color profile of the film has been improved but when it comes to the realness of the visuals, they’re far from real. I don’t know where the money went and I don’t understand the director’s absurd choice of shooting the entire film in a studio.

Honestly, if anyone is defending the film’s visuals then they clearly don’t know what they are talking about. A big screen won’t change anything, if anything the big screen will ruin the audience’s experience even more as the fakeness of the effects will be more evident. With an investment of 600 crores and a horrible product like this, I can’t even imagine how the makers are planning to recover the money. This film will definitely affect Prabhas’ pan India appeal which was severely hurt after the abominations that were Saaho and Radhe Shyaam.
