Anatomy of a Fall is a courtroom drama written by Justin Triet and Arthur Harari. Triet is at the helm of affairs. The film’s premise is quiet simple: A woman is suspected of her husband’s murder, and their blind son faces a moral dilemma as the sole witness. The Triet directorial has been a global sensation ever since it has entered film festivals. The film premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2023, where it won the Palme d’Or, the Palm Dog Award and competed for the Queer Palm. It continued to win awards, including the National Board of Review Award for Best International Film and received four nominations at the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The film has an extremely silent theatrical release back in August. So, like me if you missed the film, then make sure to watch catch it when releases digitally this week.
Anatomy of a Fall Finally Gets an Online Release Date!
According to a new listing from dvdreleases, Anatomy of a Fall will be available for purchase on digital and VOD platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes and Vudu from December 22nd, 2023. We don’t have any update on the film’s physical media release date yet. The film will definitely be a contender at this year’s Academy Awards. The film received critical acclaim, with praise for Triet’s direction and Hüller’s performance, and sold over one million admissions in France.
Anatomy of a Fall premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 2023. Le Pacte debuted it theatrically in France on August 23, 2023. The film was showcased at the 27th Lima Film Festival on August 13, 2023, and the 28th Busan International Film Festival on October 8, 2023, under the ‘Icon’ section.
Neon secured North American distribution rights in May 2023, releasing the film in the United States on October 13, 2023, with a limited theatrical release expanding the following week. Lionsgate UK acquired UK and Ireland distribution rights in September 2023 from Picturehouse Entertainment, scheduling a release for November 10, 2023. Considering all this, the film cannot be expected to arrive on streaming platforms before February 2024.
