The filming of the Beetlejuice sequel had started a long time ago and before the Hollywood strikes began. Tim Burton had a lot of interviews where he discussed about the second part. However, because of the strikes just like many other movies and TV shows Beetlejuice 2’s filming also came to a halt. Before the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes began, Burton had mentioned that Beetlejuice 2’s principal photography is almost done. The infamous director had mentioned that there was only about a day and a half left that was needed to complete shooting. The project was at risk of a serious delay before the strike ended, but thankfully the strikes ended in time. The project is back on track, as Burton has made the official announcement that Beetlejuice 2’s remaining day and a half has been shot.
Tim Burton Wraps Beetlejuice 2!
Just ten days back, a CBS report revealed that the filming for Beetlejuice 2 officially ended on Friday, November 15th, when the film finally resumed production after many months. Fans in the area had also spotted Jenna Ortega on the set, going on to share images and video clips of the Wednesday star as she’ll appear in the film. However, there was no word from the creative team involved with the film until today when director Tim Burton made it official that Beetlejuice 2 has wrapped filming and will move on to the edit table soon. He posted an image on his Instagram page, where he is seen chilling on the sets of Beetlejuice. This is the first image from the sets of Beetlejuice 2. The caption stated, “Just finished shooting Beeltlejuice. Thank you to everyone involved.”
The sequel is directed by Tim Burton and written by David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, Mike Vukadinovich, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Along with Jenna Ortega the film stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Willem Dafoe and Monica Belluci.
Beetlejuice 2 is all set to release on September 6th 2024. All eight episodes of Wednesday are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
