Bottoms is a comedy-drama film that is directed by Emma Seligman. The film stars Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edebiri, Nicholas Galitzine, Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Jordan Gerber and Marshawn Lynch. The film follows unpopular best friends PJ and Josie start a high school fight club to meet girls and lose their virginity. They soon find themselves in over their heads when the most popular students start beating each other up in the name of self-defense. The film opened in theatres on August 25th and because of the overwhelming competition, the film didn’t generate good numbers. Made on a budget of $11.3 million, the film has only collected $9.8 million until now. Despite failing at the box office, Bottoms had amazing critical reception as it is currently sitting at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. Given that the film won’t be making its budget back in theatres, the online release date of Bottoms has been announced.

Bottoms Movie Will Be Available Online Very Soon!

Less than a month after the film’s theatrical debut, the online release date for Emma Siligman’s Bottoms looks to have been revealed.  According to a listing from Redbox (via When To Stream), the foul-mouthed MGM comedy will hit digital storefronts on Friday, September 22. This date has since been removed from the website so for all you know, this date might not be the ironclad. However, if this date does end up sticking, then it would be in line with MGM’s release strategy as of late.

It feels like a solid bet the film comes to Premium Video-On-Demand (PVOD) services on that date. Then it means that Bottoms will be available for digital purchase exactly 4 weeks (28 days) since the film opened in theatres. For reference, other MGM releases have fallen right around that 30-40-day window for their online releases. Florence Pugh’s A Good Person (which came to theaters on March 31) took 45 days to come to PVOD. Also, fans can expect the film’s physical media release to be sometime around late October or early November.

Bottoms Movie will be available for digital purchase on September 22nd, 2023.
