Back in 2010, Dreamworks – an animation production house under Universal Pictures came out with Despicable Me. A film focusing on Gru, a criminal mastermind that adopts three children to pull off one of the biggest heists in the world. Gru has an army of cute little creatures called Minions. The film was an outrageous success with earning over $543 million worldwide on a budget of $69 million. Naturally, Despicable Me became an animation franchise with a follow-up coming in 2013. The sequel grossed $971 million on a budget of only $100 million. Four years later, a threequel was out but it wasn’t a critical success like its predecessors. However, the film outgrossed every other movie in the franchise and became the first billion venture.
Cut to seven years later, we’re getting the fourth Despicable Me film this year. This is coming after two Minions spin-off films. We haven’t gotten any official footage from Despicable Me 4 but a leaked image surfaced the internet today which acts as a spoiler. Check it out below.
Despicable 4: The Minions Will Look Very Different In The New Film!
Despicable Me 4’s first image has surfaced the internet and trust me you’ll either love it or hate it. The image shows the Minions, but not in their regular cute and tiny form. The Minions have gone through some form of a physical transition through chemicals which has rendered them to look like that. However, they also appear to be in a boxing arena so their physical look might the result of them preparing for their big fight. Two Minions look like two huge buffed up balls and the other like a cucumber. The last one looks just normal. The Reddit thread where this image appeared has been spammed with comments or either love or pure joy.
