After a long time a new original sci-fi movie is on the horizon in the form of Gareth Edwards’ The Creator. The film has opened to mixed reviews with critics. While no one is calling it a bad film, there is a general notion that the Gareth Edwards directorial is visually stunning, thanks to Greg Frasier, the film is emotionally deaf. The Creator debuted with a 76% Rotten Tomatoes score, currently, the film stands at 69% from 149 reviews. However, despite mixed critical reception, can The Creator lay the ground work for a new franchise, since the film doesn’t belong to any existing IP. So, is there anything at the end of the film that tells us the story isn’t over here yet. May be a post credit scene? Well, let’s find out whether The Creator has a post credit scene or not.
Is The Creator Setting Up A New Sci-Fi Franchise?
The concept of post credit scenes was started by Marvel Studios in modern cinema. Giving the audience just one more nugget of the film that teases about the upcoming developments in the franchise. After Marvel, DC also followed the trend and soon post credit scenes became a norm in the superhero genre. However, recently many mainstream Hollywood franchises have also adopted this tradition with Fast X having a post-credits scene where we saw Luke Hobbs’ return. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts added a mid-credits too in order to revive Mirage.
There are still some franchises which opt against the trope. For instance, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse didn’t have a post-credits, for example. Just like Across the Spider-Verse, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One and Meg 2: The Trench, The Equalizer 3 and A Haunting In Venice, The Creator doesn’t have a post credit scene.
The Creator will debut in theatres near you on September 29th, 2023.
