Dune: Part Two Reviews!

We’re two months into 2024 and no film released until now has been able to generate any buzz at the theatres. The only film that has interested the audience so far is Deadpool 3, which won’t be releasing for another four months. So, if there is any film that will set the tone for the year early on it has to be Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 2 – sequel to the 2021 masterpiece Dune, based on Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic. There are immense expectations from the sequel given the critical and commercial success of its predecessor. Does it hold up to the quality of the first film? Well, the early reviews for the sequel are out so, you can draw the conclusions yourself.

Dune 2 Early Reviews and Reactions – Film of the Year?

These are early reviews from Twitter users who attended one of the many premieres of Dune 2. As the review embargo for Dune 2 has not been lifted yet, these are simply vague early statements that will give you an idea of what the film will be like.

Thibault Hycarius – “This evening, I had the chance to attend the premiere of ‘Dune Part II’. Well, I’m not going to lie to you, quite simply: I’m very grateful to be alive just to see this, to have the chance to see a film like this, it’s difficult to describe. What a movie.”

Matteo Sapin –  “Just as impressive as Part 1, if not more so.”

@Siphano wished – “I wish all future science fiction films the best of luck for the next decade, as this one sets the bar so high. Truly exceptional.”

@CineHDFR – “‘Dune 2’ is powerful and epic! There’s so much happening, it’s an apotheosis on every level. I can’t believe what I just experienced.”

Dune 2 is also the longest Denis Villeneuve film ever beating his previous longest – Blade Runner 2049 (2 hours and 43 minutes) as the sequel’s duration clocks in at a massive 2 hours and 46 minutes. Meaning both the Dune films combined will have a massive package of 5 hours and 21 minutes.

Dune 2 adds even more faces into the fold, including Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Christopher Walken as Shaddam IV and Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot. Dune: Part One is available for streaming on HBO Max or Amazon Prime Video depending on the region where you live.

Dune: Part Two will now exclusively premiere in theatres on March 15th, 2024.
