The Expendables was a franchise created by Sylvester Stallone in 2010. The franchise stars some of the most veteran actors in Hollywood including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Andy Garcia, Dolph Lundgren and many more. All the films in the franchise have been helmed by different directors meaning there wasn’t a consistent vision attached to it. Nearly a decade after the last Expendables film, the fourth part is out in theatres. The film opened to terrible reviews from critics and based on the theatrical run of the film so far, it is a box office bomb. The film is made on a budget of $100 million and has only earned $23 million so far. The Expend4bles, as the official title states, might turn out to be one of the biggest box office failures for the studio. Since, the film is not making its budget back via theatres, the studio is moving the film for an online release and physical media release.

Expendables 4 Blu-Ray Release Date Is Closer Than You Think!

The Expendables 4 is coming to 4K and Blu-Ray storefronts much earlier than expected due its poor box office performance. A new report from Collider reveals that the Scott Waugh directorial will have its physical media release on November 21st, 2023.  The 4K release giving audiences a chance to see the action in stunning Dolby Vision HDR with Dolby Atmos audio mix. Of course, there will be other special edition like Best Buy’s usual exclusive SteelBook, Walmart’s exclusive Steelbook collection bundling all four films together and even Amazon’s SteelBook which comes with lenticular artwork and unique bonus materials.

All version will include commentary from director Waugh but only Amazon’s Steelbook will have “We Get the Job Done: Breaking Down the Fighting Styles” and “Costuming The Expendables” special features. The film had its online release date 21 days of its theatrical release. The film is one of the worst financial blunders of 2023. This theatre to digital window is one of the shorter windows for Warner Bros. It lines up with Jason Statham’s The Meg 2: The Trench, actually tying this mark during its own theatrical run.

Other major films distributed by Warner Bros. like The Flash and Blue Beetle, both hit digital markets after only 32 days in theaters, with both films flopping at the box office. The summer smash Barbie on the other hand, is the only film exception to the aggressive theatre to digital strategy of Warner Bros.
