After John Wick if there is any other franchise that has made a significant impact in the past few years when it comes to action movies it has to be the Extraction franchise that has the backing of the Russo Brothers and a stunt visionary like Sam Hargrave behind the camera. The first Extraction film came as a surprise to everyone as no one expected a movie released in the middle of the pandemic to be this impactful. The sequel on the other hand, has turned out to be even better than the first, all thanks to the 21 minutes one shot action sequence. I have to say as a filmmaker there are very little things that I see in a film and I don’t understand how it is done. When I saw the 21 minutes action sequence, at moments I was astound as to how they achieves these visuals.
I don’t how the camera moves so smoothly inside and outside the car? I know there are digital and hidden cuts but they’re done very well as the feeling and tension of one shot is never lost. It is not just me who is raving about the film, there are many others. Netflix’s numbers proves it.
