Since its premiere in 2001, very few films have had the kind of impact on the automobile industry like The Fast and the Furious franchise. Of course, you can’t discuss the most well-known vehicles in the series without bringing up Han’s 1997 Veilside Mazda RX-7, a Tokyo Drift classic. Driven by legendary wheelman Han Seoul-Oh, this compact machine is stunning on the outside and is quite powerful inside. Apparently, Fast and Furious 10 will reunite him with his old car.
Fast and Furious 10 Reunites Han With His Tokyo Drift Car
Han, played by Sung Kang, had a historic comeback in F9, reuniting with Vin Diesel and his other former crew members. However, with Fast X currently in production, another reunion for the cherished character is in store. Sung took to Instagram to share the wholesome news, posting side-by-side pictures of himself in front of the classic yellow and black Mazda RX-7 FD he first drove in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
Sung shared his nostalgia with fans writing, “Good to see you old friend… Can’t believe it’s been 16 years since we’ve seen each other. You’ve aged well.”
‘Fast 9’ Brought Han Back From The Dead
As most fans would recall, it was the exact vehicle in which Han met what they assumed to be his tragic demise at the end of 2006’s “Tokyo Drift”. The car was hit by a Mercedes, which then exploded in a fiery blaze. Fans have been curious about Han Seoul-Oh’s survival ever since the Fast Saga revealed in the January 2020 trailer that the character was alive and not “killed” (as previously believed).
Making a comeback to the franchise years later, it is revealed that Han’s demise was staged by Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody, allowing Han to reunite with his former crew. Additionally, his return creates a window of opportunity for future cameos by other characters, such as Han’s girlfriend, Gisele.
