Fast X

The Fast and Furious franchise and the FAMILY has returned once again after delivering one of the worst movies of 2020. Fast and Furious 9 saw the gang visit space which was truly outrageous, in a bad way. The franchise started way back in the early 2000s, more precisely 2001 and ever since then slowly and gradually the franchise kept on going while adding big names to it, with the centre of action always being Vin Diesel’s Dom. The franchise in my opinion was at its peak during the Fast 5, Fast and Furious 6 and Fast and Furious 7. The Fate of the Furious was definitely a box office success, but the decline of the franchise very much started there. With each new installment the franchise concentrated less on story and more on wild action set pieces which got crazier and crazier as time went by.

The success of the franchise also resulted in the world of the franchise expanding with many characters getting their own spin-off, like Hobbs and Shaw. Even after an abomination of a previous film, fans are still excited about the franchise and with the tenth and penultimate part. I think this one too is going to be very successful and the final part aka Fast 11 will surely be a major box office hit. Well, Universal has just released a full length trailer for the film and it is fueled with nostalgia.

Fast ad Furious 10 / Fast X Trailer is very long!

The trailer that Universal released is not just full length its almost double that. It is the longest trailer of the year if I’m correct. Even Rohit Shetty films have shorter runtime than this. The trailer is insanely long with clocking in at 3 minutes 42 seconds. The trailer is filled with past footages from previous films which act as a nostalgia trigger. Even Paul Walker features in the footages. The trailer is almost like an ode to the entire franchise. I’m not someone who is connected emotionally to the franchise but the fans may have found this moving.

The trailer almost spoils everything about the film though. I like I’m not sure how you can have a trailer almost 4 minutes long and still don’t reveal much. Almost all action set pieces are spoiled and all the key plot points where a character will be introduced or return is already in the trailer. The newest additions to the film’s already exuberant cast is Jason Momoa, who plays the villain. He is out to get Dom and his family as he believes Dom had wronged him in the past and he wants to have his revenge now.

The other new addition being Brie Larson who plays Tess. Most of the characters from the previous films are set to make their return for one last time as the franchise’s main story is coming to an end. The film stars Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Rita Moreno, Jordana Brewster, Scott Eastwood, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell and so on.
