I guess this year has been good for video games adaptations in general with films like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Gran Turismo and most recently Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s. The film was produced by Blumhouse, a reputed studio when it comes to horror flicks. It seems like whatever movies Blum chooses blossoms into horror hits except for a rare misfire in The Exorcist: Believer. Their latest venture has surpassed even their expectations as Five Nights at Freddy’s has just become the highest grossing film in the history of Blumhouse studios. The film has earned $295.5 million worldwide against a budget of only $20 million. The film might also cross the $300 million mark in the coming days which would a first for Blumhouse. This also means that Five Nights at Freddy’s has become the highest grossing horror film of 2023 beating The Nun II. After a successful theatrical run, the film is on the verge of having its home release. Check out when.
