In the 2015 Mad Max reboot, veteran director George Miller introduced us to a new character called Furiosa played by Charlize Theron. At the time, no one expected that Furiosa will attract more attention from fans than Max itself. The portrayal of Theron really made a mark in the hearts of moviegoers as Furiosa since then has become a fan favorite to the extent where we’re getting a solo movie on her. Theron won’t be reprising her role as the story focuses on a much younger Furiosa. The part will be played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who I believe is one of the most brilliant young actors working currently. The film began production in summer last year and keeping in line with the 2024 release date, we have gotten the first trailer of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga as a kick-off to its marketing campaign.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Will Blow You Away!
Last year we got the information that Chris Hemsworth would be seen as the primary villain of Furiosa. This was the most talked about point of the film as the action superstar is generally confined to good at heart, muscle man roles. However, to see Hemsworth as his absolute worst was fascinating. The trailer of Furiosa was supposed to give us the first look at Hemsworth’s villain and it didn’t disappoint. The Extraction star looks absolutely unrecognizable in his new avatar.
Kudos to the make-up and prosthetics team achieve such a disgusting look for Hemsworth who is considered to be one of the most attractive males on planet Earth. Apart from that, Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa is on point as she looks like a young version of Charlize Theron. Given her acting prowess, I think Joy will nail this role. The trailer looks fantastic. There is a lot of action, blood, blasts. The visual appeal of these films is still intact. Other then that I don’t think any major plot detail has been spoiled. We simply know that Furiosa will be fighting back from her kidnappers.

Director George Miller penned the screenplay for Furiosa with Mad Max: Fury Road co-writer Nico Lathouris. In the film, per the synopsis, “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”
The Mad Max: Fury Road Prequel stars Anya Taylor Joy in the lead role of Furiosa and the supporting cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones and Yahya Abdul Mateen II. We hope to get more updates from the film’s production soon. Mad Max: Furiosa will hit theatres on May 24th 2024.
