Gadar 2 crossed the ₹500 crore mark worldwide last week. By the end of the third week, the movie is predicted to hold strong and bring in the big bucks. Just imagine the amount of records it will break then. Bahubali 2 is in serious danger. Pathaan is also not far away. Gadar 2 had a strong hold even in week 2, ₹90.47 crore in its second weekend, breaking the record of Pathaan and Prabhas’ Baahubali 2, which collected ₹80.75 crore on the second weekend. Gadar 2’s storm is so strong that despite the competition, the film is consistent with its box office performance. Even if there was a new film opening this weekend, Gadar 2 remained unshaken and in fact managed to cross milestones even today.
Gadar 2 On Path To Beat Bahubali 2!
Gadar 2 crossed KGF: Chapter Two’s lifetime box office collection (₹434 crores) on its 16th day of release. The film stood at ₹439 crores in the Hindi belt. However, this was only till Saturday. As Sunday arrived, the film crossed a new milestone at the Indian box office. Gadar 2 has now crossed ₹450 crores as it earned ₹11-12 crores on Sunday as per early estimates. This makes the film the fastest ever to cross the ₹450 crore mark in India. Pathaan, the previous fastest achieved the feat in 18 days. While Bahubali 2: The Conclusion took 20 days. Gadar 2 is behind only two films from the ₹500 crore club i.e. Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali 2: The Conclusion.
These figures are despite Dream Girl 2’s massive ₹42 crores opening weekend. It is clear that until Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan releases on September 7th, Gadar 2 will continue to dominate the box office and might as well cross ₹500 crores till then. Analysts predict that Gadar 2 is almost certain to go past Bahubali 2’s ₹511 crores but won’t overthrow Pathaan’s ₹543 crores. If it does, then it will only strengthen the film’s position in the market. However, Jawan might do the same once it releases next month.
