Insidious is one of the most famous horror franchises from Hollywood. Of course it is James Wan’s brainchild and much like all his other franchises after the initial additions, the quality of the sequels was mediocre at best. The sequels simply became means for the studio to get some cash and I think the audiences saw this. The box office performances of the films started to drop which is the only way the studios understand that the audiences have had enough of this. So, finally the makers decided to end the franchise with one final movie. Insidious: The Red Door. The marketing of the film built it up like this is the best Insidious that we’ve ever seen. However, the critics’ reviews made it pretty clear that the studio simply wanted to get some more cash before they bury the franchise for good. Have they buried it though? Maybe not as there is a post credit scene in the film.

Is Insidious: The Red Door Post Credit Scene Important?

Insidious: The Red Door has the most studio post credit scene ever. Even after just delivering one of the most underwhelming films of the year, the studio wasn’t brave enough to just close the doors on the franchise. After the film ends and the credits roll we get another scene. It is not a big scene or anything but just another reminder that the studio is not done making money of this franchise. The scene reveals the newly closed Red Door light up again. That’s it. So, when they shamelessly announce another sequel in the franchise we can’t blame them.

Insidious: The Red Door is currently in playing in theatres near you.
