John Wick 4 Early Reviews Roundup – The Best of the Franchise!?

Even after being a classic assassin story, John Wick (2014) brought a lot of new things to the table. Its highly slick and stylized action was something viewers had never seen before and the way it built-up its protagonist is still unmatched. That aside, the Gun-Fu action style it showcased became a USP of John Wick and so did Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of the character. Well, as expected the tremendous success of the film launched a franchise which debuted John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017, and JW: Chapter 3 – Parabellum in 2019. Both these films opened to tons of critical acclaim and were praised for being consistent in quality. The franchise never lost its identity but kept on getting better and better, both action and world-building wise. As a result, we are about to get John Wick: Chapter 4 in just a few weeks as well as the finale aka John Wick: Chapter 5.

There are still over 15 days to go before John Wick 4 hits the theatres but the early reviews for the film are already in. Some lucky viewers and critics have already seen John Wick 4 and have shared their short reviews and reactions for the film. They all appear to be pretty great hailing John Wick 4 as not just another solid entry to the franchise, but also the best one yet. However, we’ll ask you not to rely on these early reviews as these days we have seen a trend where first reviews for almost every film are great but the actual reviews and the film often turn out to be disappointing. The Almost 3 Hour Runtime Doesn’t Bring John Wick 4 Down!

So, from the looks of it we are in for a banger and it seems like its time to put the skepticism about its long runtime to rest as well. It is pretty clear from this insanely positive response that the world building JW 1-3 did massively pays off in this penultimate chapter. But as I mentioned above, managing your expectations is really important. The final verdict about the film rests with you but its critical and general response will be clearer once the full reviews and RT ratings start popping up. In between the 4th and 5th chapter we’ll also be getting a spin-off called Ballerina starring Ana de Armas. John Wick: Chapter 4 is slated to release on 24th March 2023.
