John Wick has to be one of the most famous franchises of the last decade. It all started out in 2014, when Chad Stahelski who had started out as a stuntman early in his career wrote and directed this other worldly assassin action thriller. Fun fact, Stahelski was Keanu Reeves’ stunt double in The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The unfathomable success of the first film, be it critical or commercial led to a franchise being formed. The second film expanded the mysterious world that the first film has set-up. My personal favorite of all the John Wick movies is the third one. There is a simple reason for it because the film knows what it is. It was not trying to be anything. Simply a full adventure and thrill action movie that doesn’t bore the audience with too much exposition or plot.
I was very keen on seeing which direction does the franchise takes next. Finally after almost four years we’re getting the much awaited penultimate chapter of the John Wick saga. The final trailer for the same has been released which introduces something amazing!
John Wick Chapter 4 Introduces a New Dog For John Wick!
John Wick Chapter 4’s new trailer once again doesn’t tell us a lot about its plot. Rather it simply shows us what we’re here for the huge action set pieces that spread across the movie around which the plot would be weaved. We’ve heard from everyone involved in the production of the film that the action has gone up a notch from all the previous installments. Well, I’d like to see how crazy are they going this time and will they be able to sustain the suspension of disbelief that the franchise previously has.
We see a bit more of Bill Skarsgard’s new villain along with the returning characters like Winston, Charon and Bowery King. While all this is good, the highlight of the trailer has to be the something because of which everything had started- a dog. That is correct John Wick getting another dog, or at least that is how the trailer wants to think. I love the final two shots of the trailer where we see the dog’s puppy eyes and Wick’s exasperation because he knows what has happened in the past.

The Franchise stars Keanu Reeves in the lead role. The other cast includes Clancy Brown, Donnie Yen, Bill Skasrsgard, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Marko Zaror, Rina Sawayama, Ian Mcshane, Lance Reddick and Laurence Fishburne. John Wick: Chapter 4 is slated to release to on 24th March 2023.
