Killers of the Flower Moon is the 27th Martin Scorsese movie and just like every new release of Scorsese, it seems as if this his best work. The man is in his 80s but he is still fit to direct three and half hour feature films. Killers of the Flower Moon was an ambitious venture for the veteran filmmaker. He had put his all in the making of this film. The film debuted in Cannes this year received a 9 minute standing ovation. It is clear that Scorsese really wants the last stage of his career to be remembered just as highly as his peak days. This hunger for cinema truly makes him the greatest director alive. As the theatrical run of Killers of the Flower Moon is coming to a close, we have a supposed online release date for the Scorsese directorial.
Killers of the Flower Moon Gets Quick Online Release Date!
WhenToStream reveals that Martin Scorsese’s latest venture will officially arrive on digital and VOD platforms starting from December 5th, 2023. This means fans can purchase the film online on digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV then. The film is being made available digitally 46 days after its theatrical debut. This is in line with the film’s 45 days window where the title was exclusively available in theaters. If the film turned out to be a box office juggernaut like Oppenheimer, then the online release date would be delayed.
However, Killers of the Flower Moon has only earned $152.1 million worldwide over a budget of $200 million. As the film is in collaboration with Apple TV+, its box office numbers don’t matter much but it is important to note that the movie didn’t find much takers in theatres. Please note that this doesn’t mean the film is starting streaming from December 5th as well. The streaming date of the film remains a mystery and according to reports the film won’t be available on Apple TV+ at least till December 22nd, 2023.
