Out of all the lovable characters that Dreamworks has created, Kung Fu Panda has to be one of the most famous. The furry fighter debuted in 2008 and was an absolute hit with the audiences as he was both determined and naive, not to forget loveable. Much of the credit for the character’s popularity should go to the beautiful animation and Jack Black’s voice. Just like Shrek, Po also resonated with the audiences and wanted to see more of him. As the film was a blockbuster, the studio made a sequel in 2011 and then threequel in 2016. This shows you the love of the character with the masses. Many people thought that the franchise came to an end in 2016 as a trilogy but Dreamworks soon announced that there is indeed more story to explore and a fourth part was in the works. This is everything we know about it.
Kung Fu Panda Is On Track Despite The Hollywood Strikes!
Theatrical Executive Hernán Viviano of Universal Pictures Brazil in the recent event Expocine 2023 confirmed that the fourth Kung Fu Panda film will release in Brazil during March 2024. This means that the film is on track for its original theatrical release date of March 8th, and the Hollywood strikes hasn’t delayed the film in any way. However, the strikes have resulted in some major competition for the film as A Quiet Place: Day One shares the same release date and the animated movie will also go toe-to-toe with Dune: Part Two in its second weekend.
In addition to Jack Black, the movies also star Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, Angelina Jolie as Tigress, Seth Rogen as Mantis, Jackie Chan as Monkey, Lucy Liu as Viper, David Cross as Crane, James Hong as Mr. Ping, and Randall Duk Kim as Oogway.
Kung Fu Panda 4 will be released in theatres on March 8, 2024.
