Mission-Impossible 8

The last we heard Paramount was reconsidering the plan to release Mission Impossible 8 next summer on June 28th, 2024 because of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes. While one may feel that the strikes would certainly end till the time it releases next year. So why is Paramount so worried? Well, Mission Impossible 8 hasn’t completed filming yet. In fact, just days prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, director Christopher McQuarrie admitted MI8 was only 40% done. This means that the eighth instalment of the franchise won’t be able to keep up with its scheduled release date. However, it appears as if Paramount isn’t too keen to push back on of its biggest potential blockbusters. A new update from an insider tells us that the film will begin filming very soon.

Mission Impossible 8 Is High Priority For Paramount Pictures!

A new report from The Wrap confirms that Mission Impossible 8: Dead Reckoning Part Two will begin filming very soon as the film is a high priority for Paramount Pictures. Paramount is looking to hit the ground running with the newest Mission: Impossible sequel as it, among other studios, faces a backlog of films in production before the actors’ strike began (ongoing since July 13th, 2023). So, as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike comes to an end, there is a high probability that MI8 would be the first film to resume production from Paramount.

Mission: Impossible franchise director Christopher McQuarrie revealed in July that the intention was to resume filming once promotional work on Dead Reckoning Part One concluded before confirming that much of the action movie had already been shot. McQuarrie also said the goal is to complete principal photography by early 2024.

The film stars Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales and Vanessa Kirby. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part Two is slated to release on 28th June 2024.
