After 5 years of wait we finally got a Shahrukh Khan film and the fans couldn’t be more overjoyed. Apart from all the controversies that I think helped the film more than going against it, the film was setting and breaking records from Day One. Pathaan was basically Bollywood’s Avatar: The Way of Water, the only difference being Pathaan decimated every other movie that came before it, which The Way of Water couldn’t do as it is still behind Endgame and its predecessor. The Shahrukh Khan starrer has been absolutely unstoppable at the box office, be it, domestic or international. The one film that haunted Pathaan quite a bit was Bahubali: The Conclusion. Rajamouli’s mammoth collected 500 crores+ (Hindi version) back when it was released in 2017, no other film has even come close to defeat this feat, until now.
Pathaan Trumps Bahubali 2!
Finally on the 38th day of its box office, Pathaan has crossed Bahubali 2’s massive 511 crores (Hindi version) making it the biggest Hindi release ever. The film earned 1.07 crores on Friday taking its collection 511.7 crores. Overall, the film has collected 529.96 crores across all languages and it’s now in a game to go past 540 crores lifetime. Pathaan is now slowing down at the box office especially with a major Hindi film releasing next week but the film will definitely earn and add some more crores to its kitty before it is out of the theatres.
The global level, Pathaan has become the second Bollywood entry to cross the 1000 crore club along with Dangal. Matter of fact, Pathaan has also defeated Bahubali at the international level as the film has earned $47 million in international markets going past Bahubali 2’s $46.98 million. So it looks like the Pathaan fever is really taking over the entire world.
