Pitch Perfect 4 remains a question mark, following the absence of the franchise for about six years from the big screen. Universal’s take on the acapella world has been a massive success for the studio. The last the series was heard from came in the form of the TV spin-off, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin (2022).
What Could Happen in Pitch Perfect 4?
After beginning an acapella group at Barden University in the first film, the trilogy saw the Bellas eventually graduate. Then they come back together to dominate the acapella choir world. Pitch Perfect 3 concluded with the team disbanding once again after the final performance on an international USO (United Service Organisation) tour. Though this could have been a fitting end to the story, there is always potential for another chapter.
During the first three films, the Pitch Perfect franchise seemed to get bigger with each film. Perhaps a potential fourth film could see a few of the Bellas headed back to Barden to mentor and coach the next-generation acapella band. The show could also cast new up-and-coming actors to play the younger Bellas while honoring the cast of first film Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Hailee Steinfeld coming back.
When Will Pitch Perfect 4 Come Out?
There has been no official confirmation regarding Pitch Perfect 4, since Pitch Perfect 3 more than half a decade ago. Since 2017 teases for a fourth film have made their way out. Back in 2018, Rebel Wilson posted on her Twitter. “Fat Amy” and some fellow Bellas holding up four fingers hinting the fourth film is in the works. In an October 2018 appearance on Ellen, Wilson was questioned regarding the potential tease. “I can’t say anything officially. We just love each other, all us girls. Definitely, I’ll be filming another musical film in the next 12 months, I can say that. You’ll see me singing a bit more,” the actress revealed.
In a 2022 interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Brittany Snow revealed. ““[It’s a]no-brainer. I do love doing them. I get to be with my best friends, and we get to sing and dance … So I would love to do another because we would just all get to be together.” When asked by Entertainment Weekly regarding the comeback, Anna Kendrick shared positive sentiment. “Hell, yeah! We [could] do them forever.” Anna Camp told ET Online, “I’m down. love those girls and I love playing my character, so if they needed me I would be there, for sure.”
Pitch Perfect is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video in the US.
