The latest news we heard about Dwayne Johnson apart from being fired from the DCU as Black Adam is that after being kicked out from a major franchise, the Jumanji star has returned to another big IP franchise – The Fast and Furious. Johnson made a surprise comeback in this year’s Fast X. The post credit scenes featured Johnson as Hobbs, promising that he will return in the next installment of the franchise. This was a big plus for the franchise as Dwayne Johnson is one of the highest paid actors of this generation. After a very public feud with Vin Diesel, his return was a major surprise. However, Johnson’s next big check isn’t coming from Fast and Furious 11 or whatever they call it but from his collaboration with Chris Evans in Red One.
Red One: Dwayne Johnson Is The Highest Paid Actor Ever?
Puck revealed that Dwayne Johnson will be earning a record breaking amount for his upcoming movie, Red One. Amazon Studios’ holiday-themed action-comedy starring Johnson and MCU alum Chris Evans is set to debut sometime later this year, with the former Black Adam actor earning a reported $50 million. This is the most the actor has ever earned for a single role and the highest payday for any actor paid for a single role. For reference, Johnson’s other two high paying jobs, Jumanji: The Next Level and Netflix’s Red Notice, reportedly earned him $23.5 million working on.
Other movies of the actor include Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw ($20 million), Jungle Cruise ($22 million), and Black Adam ($22.5 million). We’ve heard actors getting paid these amounts nowadays however, $50 million is really a new benchmark. I would like to know Evans’ fees, just to get an idea about the pay gap which would also indicate the difference in stardom of the two actors.

- Leonardo DiCaprio – Killers of the Flower Moon: $30 million
- Arnold Schwarzenegger – Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines: $29.25 million
- Robert Downey Jr. – Avengers: Endgame: $20 million
Red One is directed by Jake Kasdan, with a script written by Chris Morgan, from an original story by Hiram Garcia. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Kiernan Shipka, J.K. Simmons, Bonnie Hunt. Kristofer Hijvu and Mary Elizabeth Ellis.
Red One doesn’t have a release date yet but the film will release sometime in 2023.
