The trailer for the new Netflix film Reptile, starring Justin Timberlake, is out. The story of Reptile is a collaborative effort of Grant Singer (director), Benjamin Brewer, and Benicio Del Toro. This film is Singer’s feature directorial debut, following a career as a music video director. He directed Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Ariana Grande’s “Let Me Love You.” Reptile is produced by Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill. It is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September. It will release in select theaters on September 29.

In Reptile, Justin Timberlake is struggling to prove his innocence. Traffic, Sicaro, and Guardians of the Galaxy star Benicio Del Toro is playing the role of a detective. The trailer sets an uncanny tone for the plot ahead and offers hints to potential viewers about what they can expect. Netflix’s official logline for the film states: “Following the brutal murder of a young real estate agent, a hardened detective attempts to uncover the truth in a case where nothing is as it seems, and by doing so, dismantles the illusions in his own life.”
The plot of this crime thriller film revolves around Detective Nichols (Benicio Del Toro) as he delves into a brutal investigation of a homicide involving a real estate agent. The inquiry takes a surprising turn, disclosing more layers than suspected. This entire thing jeopardizes the relationship between Nichols and his wife (Alicia Silverstone). The brutal murder haunts Nichols. Is it the boyfriend? Is it the ex-husband? The weird stalker? Or is it someone from Nichols’s own life?
Apart from Benicio Del Toro, Justin Timberlake, and Alicia Silverstone, the film features other talented stars. The supporting cast of the film includes Michael Pitt, Frances Fisher, Ato Essandoh, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Eric Bogosian. Reptile is releasing on Netflix on October 6.
