Saw is one of the most successful horror franchises of all time. The movie series began with James Wan’s Saw back in 2004 and the outstanding response to the film kickstarted the torture genre. Despite the sequels and spin-offs being petty cash grabs, the Saw films have never had a problem with finding an audience for themselves. However, the latest addition to the franchise was a pleasant surprise to everyone. In more than ten years there was a Saw film that received unanimous critical acclaim. Along with that, the tenth entry into the franchise was one of the most profitable films of 2023, made on a budget of $13 million Saw X earned $107.7 million. Given this overwhelming response for the film, it was only natural that the studio will greenlit a sequel – Saw 11 or Saw XI.
Saw 11 Will Release Very Soon!
On the official Instagram handle of the Saw franchise, a poster was shared that acts as an announcement for the eleventh Saw film – Saw 11 or Saw XI or whatever it will be called. The caption teased that “the game continues” and the film will arrive in theatres next year on September 27th, 2024. That will be almost one year to the day Saw X premiered on September 29th of this year. Putting the sequel on the fast track to a release just one year later is also reminiscent to when the earlier instalments of the series had done this traditionally each year for the Halloween season. No cast, crew or plot details are known at the moment.

As for the cast, Tobin Bell, portraying John Kramer/Jigsaw, features in almost all Saw films excluding Spiral, so his return in the upcoming Saw instalment seems plausible. Also, if Stolberg and Goldfinger pursue a Hoffman-centered storyline, actor Costas Mandylor may also make a comeback. Rest cast and plot details depend on the writers’ decisions on other elements from the franchise’s history.
Saw X is available for purchase online on digital platforms.
