SRK's Pathaan Release Date, Cast, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and More

Every studio in today’s world is trying to replicate the Marvel formula and create their own shared universes. It has now become a very obvious strategy to attract fans of various films with certain crossover events. Bollywood is also now on the same track with Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe which includes Singham, Sooryavanshi and Simba. Now add to all this, YRF (Yash Raj Film)’s shared spy universe which will feature characters from the film War (2019) and Salman Khan’s Tiger Franchise. Joining this shared universe is Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Here’s everything we know about the widely anticipated film so far.

Release Date and Trailer

Check out the above liked teaser which was released a few hours ago by YRF. As you can see, it is a long wait before we can catch this film in the theatres. It is all set to release on 25th January, 2023 which is almost 11 months away. The teaser features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham introducing Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan. A silhouette of SRK’s long haired character can be seen walking towards the camera. This, as expected, cuts to the credits without revealing his first look properly.

Cast and YRF’s Shared Universe

  • Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan, a RAW agent
  • Deepika Padukone
  • John Abraham
  • Dimple Kapadia
  • Ashutosh Rana as Colonel Sunil Luthra from 2019’s War

  • Gautam Rode
  • Ekta Kaul
  • Salman Khan as Avinash “Tiger” Singh Rathore from Tiger Franchise (Cameo)
  • Hrithik Roshan as Major Kabir Dhaliwa from War (Cameo)

As you can see, both Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are set to cameo in the upcoming film. This could potentially make this film the biggest blockbuster Bollywood has seen yet. SRK, Salman, Hrithik and John are some of the biggest A listers of Bollywood, who have gained international fame. So, YRF’s shared universe kicks off with Pathaan, and there’s no knowing where this universe could take mainstream Bollywood to. Fans expect this film to recharge the seemingly dying industry.
