Directed by Eli Roth, Thanksgiving movie is about a psycho killer who terrorizes the people of Plymouth after a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy. Brutal revenge killings at first, these murders soon turn out to be part of a bigger and insidious plan. As the title suggests, the movie is set during the holiday of the pilgrims. This has not been a great year for horror films, Thanksgiving acts as a good change of pace in that sense. You’d be surprised but we don’t have many horror films set during Thanksgiving and the ones that we do, are not worth it. The horror/slasher was a profitable venture for Sony Pictures, made only on a budget of $15 million, the film grossed more than $41.3 million so far. The studio didn’t waste any time in announcing a sequel for the film that will release in 2025.

Thanksgiving Movie Gets Imminent Digital and VOD Release Date!
When To Stream reveals that Thanksgiving will be available on digital and VOD platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and Apple iTunes starting from December 19th, 2023. This means the film will makes its online debut 32 days after its initial theatrical debut. The film later had a worldwide release on December 8th. As for the physical media and home release, it is expected that Thanksgiving will arrive on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K sometime in January 2024. The suspected release date is January 16th.
There is no update on the film’s streaming release date. However, considering this is a Sony Production, Thanksgiving will most likely head to Netflix, thanks to the deal between Sony and the streaming giant. The movies generally come six months after their theatrical release. Considering that, Thanksgiving should be available to stream on Netflix in late May 2024.
The film is written by Jeff Rendell, based on a story by Roth and Rendell, who produced it with Roger Birnbaum. Based on Roth’s fictitious trailer of the same name from 2007’s Grindhouse, the film stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon.
