The Creator is one of the only original sci-fi movies that has come out this year. The film was made on massive budget of $80 million, especially because the film doesn’t belong to any huge IP. The Gareth Edwards directorial opened up to mixed reviews but overall we can call the film a critical success. Although, this is movie business so how did the film perform at the box office? Well, the film’s worldwide collection stands at $101.7 million after 5 weeks at the box office. The film isn’t financial disaster but we can’t call it success as well. As the box office trends don’t show the movie’s trend improving, the studio has made the call to opt other options to recover their massive investment. The Creator Online Release Date Announced After 5 Weeks In Theatres!
According to Disney, The Creator will be available on digital starting on November 14th. A home video release, including 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions, is also confirmed for December 12th. The at-home release will also feature a 55-minute behind-the-scenes look at The Creator titled True Love: Making the Creator. This means that The Creator will hit online platforms 47 days since its theatrical debut. There is no update on when will the film start streaming on Disney’s in house streaming platform – Disney+.
The film stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Wantanabe, Amar Chadha-Patel, Benedict Wong and Allison Janney. The Creator is playing in selective theatres.
