Expend4bles is the fourth instalments of The Expendables franchise which stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Andy Garcia, Dolph Lundgren and many more. The franchise was started by Stallone, who has helmed the every single film of the franchise. Nearly a decade after the last Expendables film, the fourth part is out in theatres. The film opened to terrible reviews from critics and based on the theatrical run of the film so far, it is a box office bomb. The film is made on a budget of $100 million and has only earned $23 million so far. Expendables 4, as the official title states, might turn out to be one of the biggest box office failures. Since, the film is not making its budget back via theatres, the studio is moving the film for an online release.
The Expendables 4 Gets An Immediate Online Release Date!
The Expendables 4 is officially available for purchase on YouTube Movies on Friday, October 13th. Naturally, the film will be available on other online vendors as well. With the film initially debuting in theaters on September 22, this will be only a 21-day gap between its big-screen arrival and its imminent online release. As I already mentioned, the film is one of the worst financial blunders of 2023. This theatre to digital window is one of the shorter windows for Warner Bros. It lines up with Jason Statham’s The Meg 2: The Trench, actually tying this mark during its own theatrical run.
Other major films distributed by Warner Bros. like The Flash and Blue Beetle, both hit digital markets after only 32 days in theaters, with both films flopping at the box office. The summer smash Barbie on the other hand, is the only film exception to the aggressive theatre to digital strategy of Warner Bros.
