Netflix has released the character posters and trailer for their high budget spy franchise The Gray Man. The film directed by the Russo brothers of Endgame fame, is scheduled for a limited release in theaters on July 15, 2022, before debuting on the streaming service a week later on July 22, 2022.

The cast of the film includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick and Dhanush. Based on the series of novels written by New York Times best-selling author Mark Greaney, The Gray Man follows a freelance assassin and former CIA operative, Court Gentry, who uncovers the dark secrets of his agency and becomes a target for the CIA and other international assassins. Previous attempts to turn the novel into a film fell through until Netflix announced plans to adapt the novels and allocated a budget of $200M, making it Netflix’s most expensive production to date.  Check out the Trailer below.

From the trailer, the film looks like an conspiracy/espionage thriller in the vein of Matt Damon’s Bourne series and also seems to share some traits of the Bond franchise. The action is eye-popping and Chris Evans is as menacing as ever, playing the psychopathic agent Lloyd Hansen, the main antagonist of the film.
