The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has become a surprise hit. After the dull reviews, and the lukewarm box office opening, I’d written off the film when it comes to financial gains. However, this prequel has really become a sleeper hit. Made on a big budget of $150 million, the film has earned $322.6 million worldwide. If anything the film has at least broken even and might have also generated a small profit. I’m surprised the film could get to that number considering that it stars Rachel Zegler. Joke. Please don’t cancel me. Least to say, the prequel has kept up the 100% track record of the Hunger Games franchise, it might not have been as successful as the last four, but it still counts. The franchise has now passed $3 billion across five films. If you’re one of the people who loved the film, and want to own a copy for yourself then you’ll have to wait some time for it.
When Will The New Hunger Games Movie Be Available On Physical Media!
A new report from dvdreleases, tells us that The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be available for purchase on physical media formats like DVD and Blu-ray from February 13th, 2024. This is in line with previous reports suggesting a release window of early 2024. The film was made available on digital and VOD platforms like Amazon Prime, Vudu and Apple iTunes for purchase from 19th December, 2023, roughly one month after opening in theaters, (32 days to be exact).
In recent years, Starz has been the official streaming home of Lionsgate movies, with many of its successful blockbusters coming to the platform after a theatrical run. Lionsgate has a deal to bring its releases to Peacock 18 months after their theatrical debut.It means if the Hunger Games 2023 spin-off hits Starz in May, then the film will come to Peacock sometime around December 2025.
The prequel stars Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Max Raphael, Zoe Renee, Ayomide Adegun, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, Sofia Sanchez and Amélie Hoeferle. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is available for purchase on digital and VOD platforms.
