The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes - First Trailer Released

I think we’re all familiar with The Hunger Games Franchise. The story started in books but soon reached for the big screen. While today we struggle to find quality fantasy content, The Hunger Games films gave us a ride into an unique world with fantastic characters and great performances. The film series received critical acclaim and enjoyed box office success as it grossed over $2.970 billion worldwide. In the summer of 2020 when the world was dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic Suzanne Collins wrote another Hunger Games book but it was not the continuation of the saga. It was a prequel to the The Hunger Games story with new characters. The book regardless of a pandemic, was an international best seller and Lionsgate was quick to make another film. Today, we finally have the first trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ Trailer Takes Us Back To Panem!

The Hunger Games prequel’s trailer looks fascinating from the very beginning. The film is visually beautiful where the CGI elements don’t look fake. Rachel Zegler as the protagonist is awesome. However, the best part of the trailer has to be Peter Dinklage’s Casca Highbottom. It seems like wherever Dinklage goes the bottle doesn’t leave him as just like Game of Thrones, Dinklage is shown as an “alcohol aficionado” in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. It is reassuring that franchise veteran Francis Lawrence is helming the prequel.

Hunger Games screenwriter Michael Arndy and producer Nina Jacobson are back as well. While Katniss’s story is long ahead in the timeline but we can definitely count on finding out Snow’s origins. Upon casting Zegler, Francis Lawrence had this to say about her, “Like everybody, I first saw Rachel Zegler in ‘West Side Story,’ and like everybody, I knew I was watching a star who would command the screen for a generation. Lucy Gray is a perfect match for her as an actress: the character is bold, independent, and defiant, but also vulnerable, emotional, and loving. Rachel will make this character unforgettable.”
